A/N: If you haven't seen my message, then I'll fill you in. I did write this story and now I'm doing a rewrite. Hope you guys like the rewrite!

"YANG! YANG! Yang! You have to get ready for Beacon! Remember, Ruby is coming with you, remember. First day for both of you!" my father called.

I slowly got out of bed to be tackled onto the ground by Ruby.

"Morning, Yang!"

"Hi, Ruby," I said groggily.

"Better get ready, slow poke."

She got up and walked out of my room, leaving me to be on the floor, staring up at the ceiling. Beacon was a prestigious school that only allowed people with rare talent. So I was accept in, and so was Ruby, even if she is underage to go. But the headmaster saw something in her that no other school did. I finally got up, after some time just laying there, and got dressed. I pulled on a tshirt, jeans, boots, and jacket over top. I got my gauntlets and put them on my wrists.

"Ruby, make sure you don't forget Crescent Rose!"

"Don't worry! I would never leave her behind."

She treated her scythe like it was her child. I grabbed my bag and headed down to the kitchen. Taiyang and Uncle Qrow were sitting there, waiting for me to come down. Ruby was sitting on the couch, already had eaten.

"Make sure you get something good to eat, Yang," said my father.

"Don't worry, dad. You probably would never let me leave if I didn't."

"Yeah, Tai would never do that," Qrow said, taking a sip from his flask. He got up after taking a drink and walked towards the door.

"Bus is coming in a few minutes. Better grab something to go."

He turned into a crow and flew away in the horizon. I grabbed a banana and tapped Ruby on the head.

"Let's go, Ruby."

"We going now?"

"Yep."

I walked out of the door and Ruby bounded out and appeared right beside me.

"Excited?"

"Yeah. I'm a little nervous. I mean, I think I'll be the only 15 year old there."

"You'll be fine. If you need anything, just text."

"But what if you're thrown out."

"Depending on the situation, I won't use Ember Celica."

"Why are we bringing our weapons?"

"This school trains people who want to go into a profession of guarding people."

"Oh."

"They recommend bringing the weapons in a close package or something that you can't tell it's a weapon. So people will think Ember are just gauntlets I wear everyday."

"Seems a little weird."

"Nah."

The bus came by the corner, which we had waited there for a few moments. We walked on seeing that the bus was nearly packed with other Beacon kids. We sat down in the available seats that were left and drove off. I looked around, seeing all the kids. There were a pair of a guy and a girl. The guy had long black hair in a ponytail and a single pink streak. The girl next to him had short ginger hair and was hyperactive. Across from them was another girl and guy. The girl had crimson red hair and the boy next to her had yellow hair. Behind me was a girl who seemed quiet, had black hair, a bow atop her head, and amber eyes. She was dulged in a nice book. Across from her was a girl with whitish-gray hair, a white dress, and what looked like heels.

"First day as well?" I asked the girl behind me.

"Yeah," she said, not looking up from her book.

"I'm Yang. Hope to see you in class."

"Same. I'm Blake."

Ruby's head appeared next to mine, "Hi! I'm Ruby."

"Hi, Ruby. I'm Blake."

She looked up from her book and cocked her head, "Aren't you a little young to be attending to Beacon?"

"She is. But headmaster saw something in her no one else has seen," I said.

"Can't wait to get to know you both," said Blake.

The bus stopped abruptly, sending Ruby and I face first into the chair in front of us.

"What the hell was that?" yelled a guy in the seat.

I looked up to see a kid with short brown hair, baggy sweatshirt, and a scowl on his face.

"Sorry, the bus sent us head first into the seat," I said.

"Better watch out, or I'll beat your ass!"

He got off the bus and Ruby got up from the floor.

"You ok, Ruby?" I asked, picking her up.

"Yeah, I'm ok."

We got off the bus and walked into the courtyard of the school, where the headmaster was standing, greeting all of the first year students and returning students.

"Isn't that Ozpin?" Ruby asked.

"It is."

We walked past him, smiling as we went.

"Good morning, Yang and Ruby. Hope your first day goes well. All first years are to report to the auditorium. Glynda has a small slideshow to present to all of you," he said.

"Thank you, Professor."

"Please, just call me Ozpin."

"Thank you, Ozpin," said Ruby.

"Have a good day, students."

We headed into the school and walked towards the auditorium. It was getting pretty packed when we walked in. We headed down the rows and see Blake sitting alone.

"Want to sit with Blake?" I asked.

"Sure."

I headed into the aisle and sat next to Blake.

"Hey, Blake."

"Hi, Yang," she said, again, not looking up from her book.

There was something about Blake that made me feel weird. I don't know what it was.

"Good morning, first years," said Glynda. "I am Professor Goodwitch. And welcome to Beacon. Our priority is to teach the next geneneration of guardians. And all of you who are accepted to attend this school will wear our name on your back, forever. I hope you wear it proudly and respectfully."

I dozed off for the time being and was shaken away from my thoughts from Ruby.

"Yang, we're getting our schedules now."

I turned towards the front and saw some of the second year students passing out the schedules. Ruby and I compared ours. We had lunch, English, History, and Maker Shop together.

"What do you have, Blake?" I turned towards Blake.

She handed me her schedule and I compared.

"We have all the same classes."

"Really? I can't wait to see you there."

She got up and headed out.

"I'll see you later, Rubes. Remember, if you need anything, just text me."

"I will. Bye, Yang!"

I headed into the crowd and headed to my first class, and there, Blake was sitting there with her book.

"Good first day," I mumbled to myself.
