Sara's P.O.V.
I can't believe I actually did it. I talked about leaving mom for years. Now that I'm 18, I can't believe I did it. What I've been dreaming of is really here. I walked into the police station and saw a small group of people working. There was an older woman working at the front. She looked up and could obviously tell I wasn't from around here. It was probably because of how I was dressed.
"Can I help you?" She asked me.
"Yeah. I was wondering where I could find Chief Hopper?" I said.
"Well he went home for the day but who's asking? I might be able to get ahold of him." She replied.
"Im his daughter Sara." I whispered. I didn't want it to go around. Her jaw dropped in surprise.
"Sara! Nice to meet you! I'll write down his address for you!" She said writing on a small piece of pink paper. She handed me the paper with a smile.
"Thank you!" I replied walking out to my Ferrari. It was brand new. People were looking at me as I walked out of the station and into my car. On the paper the lady wrote how to get to his house. I followed the directions and saw the police car sitting by trees. It looked like he lived in the woods. No surprise. He was never a big fan of anyone. I parked my car next to his, grabbed my two suit cases out of the trunk of my car, and began to walk in the woods. On the pink note it said 'WATCH FOR TRIP WIRE'. I was looking down while I was walking and finally I came upon a small house. I could see the trip wire and I went around it. The TV was on and the chimney was smoking. I knocked on the door and I heard footsteps.
"GO AWAY." I heard him yell. I knocked again. I could hear him groan and get up to the door. The sound of multiple locks unlocking rang through my ears. The door swung open and I saw him. My dad. "Sara?" He asked. I smiled at him. He instantly threw his arms around me. "What are you doing here?!" He asked.
"I was tired of living with mom and her rich boyfriend. I wanted to come live here with you and finish my last year of high school with people who aren't snobby." I replied still hugging him. I looked into the tiny house and saw a little girl with shorter curly hair. She had jeans and a flannel on. Wow. I really didn't fit in here. Both of us let go and smiled.
"Here, come in. It's probably not what you're used to but its okay." He said taking both of my suitcases. I shut the door behind me. I smiled and waved at the little girl. She just stared at me. Behind me, I heard the locks on the door lock. What the hell? I looked over at my dad. "El, this is Sara. She is my daughter." He told her kneeling down to her level. She began to walk up to me. She touched the fuzz on my gloves. Her eyes scanned my whole body.
"Pretty." She said. I was so confused.
"Did you adopt her?" I asked my dad.
"It's a very VERY long story. Tell me about mom and her boyfriend. Are you hungry? I just made Eggo's for dinner." He said. I laughed and nodded. The little girl he called 'El' sat next to me at the table. Dad brought us all a plate of waffles and began to tell me about El.

"So she is living with you in secret?" I asked.
"Well, the doctor at the lab said it would be safe in a year but I think it's safe now. The lab just vacated and the town is safe now." He replied. I couldn't believe everything he told me. If someone told him what he just told me, he would call bullshit. But I'm so glad I have a younger sister!! She's odd but sweet. She still has a lot to learn. "So how's your mother and her boyfriend?" He asked.
"She's good. Too good actually. She's never home. Her and Mark are always away on some vacation. I pretty much lived alone. I was sick of her leaving me. I took care of myself all of high school." I said. He was upset about that.
