A hero?

"Y/N?" somebody asked you as you sat by yourself infront of a fire, wrapped up in a blanket. Yeah, you answered curiously, not having heard that voice before. Well, it wouldn't really be a surprise, you had only heard Steve's from the place you currently stayed in.

"My name is Sam. Sam Wilson, also called Falcon. Is it alright if I sit down here with you?" the man named Sam asked and you nodded your head. You could feel the cushion beside you move. You didn't face the man, knowing it wouldn't do anything good. Sometimes people would forget or not notice that you were blind if you faced them.

"So... You know Bucky?" Sam asked after a few seconds had passed. You nodded your head gently, a soft sigh escaping your lips. Well, I believed I did. Now I believe that I knew somebody else. A mix between the Bucky Barnes that the captain knew and the Winter Soldier, you explained. You saw no reason to hide how you felt as you probably would live with these people for a very long time. Why would you be kept here? Well, you had nowhere to go and were the last person to ever speak with James Buchanan Barnes. You hand went to your shirt collar, fingers stroking over your neck. A little bulge in your skin met your fingertips. It was a strange thing to remember him by a scar that he made. You thought that you would at least remember him by a necklace or something, but no, it was carved into your skin for eternity.

"Does it hurt?" Sam asked you and you shook your head. No, not anymore, you replied and chuckled weakly. Sam was a very kind man, even if he had no idea who you really was. Superheroes are very kind, you said with a laughter, leaning back against the couch. You wrapped the blanket around yourself tighter, humming softly.

"What makes you say that?"

"Well, you don't discriminate a blind woman that spend months alone with a man fromt he 1940's that's supposed to be dead but got turned into a assassin that have killed people for over forty years." a soft 'oh' left Sam at your answer and you couldn't help but chuckle. It was strange to talk to somebody else like this after being with Bucky for such a long time. You liked it, but right now you preferred some quiet. And that you got. It laid over the two of you and the whole room like a soft blanket, not in any way awkward or uncomfortable.

"Y/N?" broke the silence and you instantly knew Steve was there. Yeah, Captain, you answered, a little bit curious to why he was here. He had stayed away from you after you two talked in the medic-wing. I need to talk to you, Steve said and you were surprised at how fast he had gotten through the room. His hand took yours and he helped you up, the blanket falling down on the couch. You said see you later to Sam before getting pulled through the room. In complete silence you followed the supersoldier down what seemed to be a long hallway. He let go of your hand to open the doors before the two of you and then led you in by putting a hand on the small of your back.

"Stay here." Steve said as you walked into the new area. You nodded your head and stopped, waiting for something to happen. The captain backed away from you, closing the doors again. He then began to walk in a wide circle around you. You heard his gentle steps around you, knowing he must have trained for a long time to be so quiet.

"Y/N. I need to ask you something. " Steven said slowly. Well, ask me then, you mused lightly as you put your hands in your pockets. Steve chuckled softly, but it sounded far from amused. Do you understand how much danger you are in, he then asked, his voice dark and serious.

"Well, not really. I have never..." a sudden yelp left your lips as you heard him come closer to you in inhuman speed, just like those scary things in horror movies. You threw yourself to the side, being very smart doing so as well. Steve's soft grunt alarmed you that he had actually tried to hit you in some way. You scrambled to your feet again, trying to say something when you heard something come at you again. You got ready for a punch in the face but was shocked when nothing happened. Your eyelids had shut tightly by instinct and you opened them, even if you couldn't see anything.

"What the-" you tried to speak to him but he cut you off.

"You have good reflexes and hearing, but you won't get far with that when H.Y.D.R.A tries to kidnap you. And here is my question to you Y/N. Do you want to be captured by them?" Steve asked, you being able to feel his eyes on you. You gave him the obvious answer, hell no. Steve let out a breath, a dark chuckle escaping him.

"That's what I thought. So, how do you feel about getting trained by the Avengers?"
