Still in Y/N POV:

Corey almost left when.

"Corey Wait !" Olive said. I looked up to her with my face of  "tf r u doing" but apparently she didn't get it and smiled/winked at me.

"Uh yes?"

"Well, Y/N wanted to tell you something, or actually more like ask you" She said while pulling me closer to her. Ugh Olive. I love her but, ya know, she just, Well...She's Olive.

"What no, I-"

"Oh C'mon Y/N, remember what you were telling me about you wanting to invite my friend Corey here to homecoming? Remember?" She said with a huge smirk on her face while poking my side with her arm and Corey looking at me with wide eyes.

Welp, Could this get any better?

"Uh yeah, So um Corey do you umm idk want to come with me to hoco?, I mean it doesn't have to be anything special or romantic, you know like just two friends hanging out dancing and having fun" I fake smiled.

I had lie. And my lie grew more & more and just made things worse, with Olive's help obviously, because I first lied to her. Anyway, It's not going to be that bad, is it? Corey and I are gr8 friends, after all I actually have to invite someone and my friend Olive here already took My, sorry, The boy I was going to ask out, Jaeden. So going out with Corey for a night is not gonna be the end of me. Plus, what could possibly go wrong? It's just some stupid dance.

"Uh yeah sure, I understand what you mean by "nothing special", we're friends, nothing else" His voice soften and lower a little at the end of his phrase.

I'm glad he said Yes. I'm happy I didn't got rejected. I'm thankful that at least my friend's gonna be there with me and make me feel less miserable about the fact that my best friend and my crush, who used to be in a relationship are going together to homecoming.

Jaeden's POV:

Early morning, I was by the lockers, hoping for Y/N to come and ask me, I like her & I feel like she likes me too so it would be nice going together to hoco.

When-

"Hey Jaeden"

"Oh hi Olive what's up?"

"Nothing much really, just wanted to know if you maybe wanted be my date for hoco?"

Oh god what do I say now.

"H-Huh?" I chuckled

"You know, it's that thing were girls and boys go together one night to the school dance and-"

"Yeah, I know what hoco is Olive, I just..Why are you asking me? I mean, it's fine but, Why?"

"Well, As you know, this year is girls turn to ask boys, I don't really talk or get along with a lot of boys, they're all mostly hormonal teenagers and ew, so I thought that asking you, my best friend, would've been the best option, plus it has been a while since we last did something like this"

"Yeah but those things only happened when we were dating"

"Ik, and I don't mean it in that way, is just that I want to have some fun with my best friend, like the old times, remember Jae? We used to go to the same parties and we were always together because we didn't know any of the people there besides each other so we played to some weird kids game together and if any stranger came to us we wouldn't let him/her play, Remember? I just want to have some fun with my best friend, if you want too."

Her voice was soft and she seemed so adorable.

Her words were so comfortable and nostalgic to hear, I remembered how fun those times were, we even called them "The Golden Age" it was one of the best things ever, before she start catching feelings and everything went down. She's still my friend, and I love her, not in a romantic way obviously, I like Y/N. But still, she really seemed to miss that so I couldn't say anything else than-

"Ok I'll go with you Olive"

"Really?, I mean, JAEDEN YES! It's gonna be so fun !"

"Yeah, Yeah..Just like Golden Age"
I said with a kind smile, to be honest she's a fun person to be around, until she starts to get annoying and well yeah..

"Omg Jaeden yes and-" she paused herself for a little while staring behind me. "Oh, I'll talk to your later, I gotta tell Y/N about this ! C ya Jae"

Y/N !

Oh this is not good.

I turned around to see Y/N a few meters away from me, she didn't notice when I saw her because I literally run away; Olive was about to tell her we were going to hoco together and I didn't want her to see me, or more like I didn't want to see her, not after what just happened with Olive.

What if she gets angry, or sad, or...What if she doesn't like me anymore? She wasn't going to ask me out anyway. Stop. Jaeden. Stop. Just...everything's gonna be fine, it's just a school dance, no more than 3 hours, you can deal with that, It's Olive, she's just a friend, Y/N wouldn't  get mad at you for a stupid dance with her friend, plus she likes me back.
