and that's their first meeting as partners ― not a pleasant one; if jeongguk can describe it, it says strange.

"down to earth, jeon jeongguk!" jimin snaps his fingers in front of the male, causing joengguk to shake his head before looking at his friends with a rather deep-in-thought expression. "what are you thinking about?"

jeongguk glances over at sooyoung's backview, as she pauses in front of her group of friends, gesturing towards his direction while sharing with her friends something and he notices the look coming from seungwan. "sooyoung," he replies instantly, furrowing his eyebrows together before shifting his attention towards his friends.

"sooyoung? aren't you interested in yerim?"

"yes, i'm, just thinking how sooyoung is pissing the heck out of me," he rolls his eyes in irritancy, turning on his heels as he heads off to his next class, tons of questions about yerim popping out in his head.

as he steps into class, he spots the familiar figure he has been trying to find the entire morning at her usual seat, with her hood over her head as she bends over her table. instantly, jeongguk rushes towards his seat, "yerim."

the female glances up slightly, her cold gaze softening at the sight of the male, before nodding her head, "jeon." with that, she drops her head back onto the table but the male did not miss out on her bruised lips and the plaster on her right cheek.

"what the heck happened to you?" he asks, grabbing her chin to lift it up so that he can have a better look at it.

"i fell, that's all. small matter," yerim brushes his hand off, waving her hand dismissively while staring at the male. she then breaks into a small smile, "did you miss me much for the past two days?"

"yes, what do you think? i miss you so much i'm starting to go crazy honestly," jeongguk answers instantly, sincerely as he looks at her, noticing the tint that is forming on her cheeks. yerim then scoffs at his response, "such a charmer, but you know my answer, it is still a no."

the male shrugs his shoulders, reaching out to brush his fingers against her bruised lower lips, "it's fine. i got rejected too many times by you that i'm so used to it." yerim chuckles softly, while holding onto his fingers, "i'm fine, jeon, stop worrying."

"how the fuck did you even fall that your lips will be this badly bruised?" he asks, frowning as tons of scenarios flash across his mind. yerim shrugs her shoulders, releasing her grasp around his fingers, "just a fall, how do i even explain to you a painful procedure?"

"how do you want me to explain it to you? i told you, i literally collided against the table and fell, as such, having these bruises on my arms," she rolls her eyes, waving off the male as he holds onto his arms, carefully examining the bruises.

jeongguk then mutters, "well, they don't look like a normal 'bumping' bruise. don't lie to me, yerim."

"why will i even waste such effort to cock up a lie?" she raises an eyebrow, shaking her head with amusement even though she was faking it. yerim can feel the pain from the bruises not only from her arms, but from her back, her abdomen and everywhere else spreading throughout her body like some wildfire, but she doesn't want to worry the male. she can't show and ruin him with her broken side.

"yerim, i'm going to ask you something, and i don't want you to lie to me," the male states a few minutes ago, releasing one of his grip on her arms, while carefully looking at her left wrist. yerim hums softly, leaning against the table as she feels the energy within her being drained. she barely got sufficient sleep last night, and all she wants to do right now is to shut her eyes, and drift to sleep, without waking up forever.
