SETTING: Goneril's main hall
SUMMARY:
Kent comes in disguised and joins Lear's knights (disguise no.1), Oswald enters and is punished for his 'disrespect'.
Introduction of the fool who points out Lear's foolishness and predicts future.
Goneril enters and demands Lear reduce his knights- showdown!
Lear curses her and shows first signs of madness before leaving for Regan's.
KEY QUOTATIONS

Note: Enter the fool! Although it may seems a mess of random words so my advice is to try to pick out a couple of quotes from him throughout the play. He's a really good character when analysing madness as his rhymes could be seen as a type of madness- so why is there wisdom in the ramblings??? He speaks predictions and understanding that Lear cannot- why could this mean, what could be his role?? I know with the version I used that most of the fool's lines were 'de-coded'.
