Such strong counterpoints in this case. The Prosecution added two more charges today. So, 17 charges up from 15 due to CCTV footage. And it's correct that an accused does not have to make contact with a victim. Simply move with intent in their direction for assault charges to be filed. So, 17. Six with bodily harm. Seven with a weapon. And then a range of weapons possession charges. That's one side.
Then here's this mousy little girl in the grey track pants with matted hair. She smiled at Mom, who sat in the Gallery and understandably looked a complete wreck. Meek, polite. To her credit, she looked me in the eye when we spoke although her voice was barely audible above a whisper.
Human nature, hum? All these things I have to reconcile in my courtroom.
