There was a chorus of gasps as Perrie walked out in a rouched, mermaid fit, strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline. She stepped up on the little platform in front of the mirror and there was an ear-to-ear grin on her face instantly. After a few moments of silence she asked, “Well, what do you think?”

“Wow Pear,” I said with wide eyes and a wider smile. “You look amazing.”

Perrie smiled wider as Zayn’s mum, Trisha, spoke, “Yes, Honey. You look fantastic in this one.” There were nods of agreement from Zayn’s sisters as well.

Debbie was being quiet through it all and I could see the hope in Perrie’s eyes as she looked to her mum and asked, “Mum, do you like it?”

Debbie was dabbing at tears of joy and sniffing as she said, “You look… absolutely gorgeous baby.”

Perrie reassessed herself in the mirror with a big smile and said, “Yeah, this… this is definitely my dress.” We all cheered as she walked back to change.

When she was back in normal clothes, we put in the order with her measurements and said goodbye to Zayn’s mum and sisters as well as her mum. Then we got back in my car and headed back to hers.

“So…?” she looked at me, the smile still plastered to her face.

“What?” I glanced at her.

“You and Liam, eh?”

“Uh…” I chuckled uneasily, not really wanting to return to this subject, “no.”

“What?” she asked surprised. “But you guys looked like you really hit it off the other night at the club. What happened?”

“Um…” I fumbled through different ways of telling this story, “I don’t know. Something just came over me I guess.” I shrugged.

She gasped, “That girl that was with Harry… were you jealous?!”

“What?” I had a disbelieving smile on my face as I exclaimed, “No!”

“You so were!” she laughed at the idea as I kept denying what I knew was so obvious, with a bitter metallic taste in my mouth.

We pulled up in front of Perrie’s and she finally calmed her fit of laughter. “Do you want to stay for lunch sweetie?”

“Yeah, sure. That sounds good.” I replied as I turned off the car and followed her inside.

She went to the kitchen and started pulling out ingredients for sandwiches and, after being declined to help, I took a seat at the table and watched her. “So did Zayn tell you anything about that meeting last week?” I asked as she sat down with lunch.

“Uh… just that we may have to do the wedding later than expected,” she shrugged, taking a bite.

I scrunched my eyebrows at her, “Wait how come? Wasn’t it just new songs and stuff like that?”

“And a new tour starting in April.”

My mouth dropped open as I stared with wide eyes at her, “Really?”

“Harry didn’t tell you?” I shook my head unable to form anymore words as I tried to stop threatening tears. “Wow, sorry hun. I thought he’d have told you.”

“Why wouldn’t he though?” I asked almost rhetorically, but I honestly wondered why he wouldn’t.

“I’m not sure love, I’m sorry.”

I blinked rapidly, stilling the tears that shouldn’t be there, and shook my head, “No, no, it’s fine really.” I faked a smile as she assessed my expression.

We finished up and deposited our dishes in the sink. We made our way to the lounge and got to talk and enjoying each other’s company for a few hours before I drove home.

I walked in to female giggling and rolled my eyes as I tried to sneak up to my room unnoticed. My plan failed as Harry called my name, “Hey Nat?”

I stopped on at the foot of the stairs and turned to find him coming into view from the kitchen, “Yeah Haz?”

“Come here, I want you to meet someone.” He jerked his head towards the lounge and disappeared.

I sighed and rolled my eyes again as I followed him. I walked into the lounge to find the same red-headed, blue-eyed girl from the club, sitting on the sofa with a fake smile plastered onto her face. “Nat this is Christina. Christina this is Natalie, my roommate and best friend.”

“Hi.” She squeaked in a high pitched, snobby voice and I cringed inwardly.

“Hi,” I said faking a smile and making a quick excuse to leave.

I went to my room and fell onto my bed. I shoved my face into a pillow and screamed in frustration. I didn’t like her; sure it had a little to do with the fact that I have feelings for Harry, but also because she seemed fake to me. I quickly got up and changed, returning to my bed and willing sleep to come. It had been a long few days and I needed a bit of an escape from it all, even if it was for just a few hours.
