I woke up with a slight headache, sprawled in the middle of an empty bed. I peered over at the alarm clock on the bed side table and it read 8:45 a.m. Jen and Tanya’s fight leaves at noon. I picked myself up off the bed and sauntered over to my room knocking lightly on the door and entering when there was no reply. “Fer,” I whispered and gently rubbed her arm. She groaned in response. “Hey are you guys packed yet?”

“Umm… no.”

“Then you should get up and pack. We have to leave for the airport in a little over an hour.”

She yawned rolling over and stretching, “M’kay… we’ll get up.”

“I’m going to go get ready and make you guys breakfast. Last meal from me, any requests?”

She thought for a moment, “Mmm… Your blueberry pancakes.”

I chuckled, “Okay, I can do that.” I went back into Harry’s room and changed into proper lazy attire, a pair of plain purple sweats and a light grey jumper, throwing my hair up into a messy bun and donning some worn out converse. I went downstairs and got started making breakfast, humming to myself and whipping up a batch of pancakes just in time for Jen and Tanya to come down with all their luggage.

“Breakfast is on the table,” I said as I sat down in front of a plate. “One last meal before you guys leave. Honestly I can’t believe it.”

“I know it feels like we just got here.”

I agreed and we ate our breakfast in silence and all too quickly we were at the airport and I was seeing them off, back to America and back to their lives. I drove back home in silence, completely alone for the first time in over a week. Harry wasn’t due back for a couple more days so the flat was quiet, but it didn’t quite feel empty. There was a feeling of love saturating the air.
