Far above, in the mystery of the cosmos, a blue spaceship sails by the stars.

It approaches a large golden sphere, and flies into its atmosphere.

Eventually, the vessel lands on the surface.

The exit door slides open, and Duck Dodgers walks out, with a flag that has a symbol of Earth on it.

He plants it into the gold soil.

"I, Duck Dodgers, claim this territory for the planet Earth!" he declares.

Then Marvin The Martian struts up to him.

"Foolish Earthling! I have claimed this area for Mars!" he objects, pointing at his red flag that has been already placed.

"Really? I guess there's only one way to settle this. Rock-paper-scissors!" Duck Dodgers suggests.

The two start the game and say together "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot!"

In that instant Duck Dodgers takes out a ray gun and fires, hitting Marvin.

The martian disintegrates, leaving only his helmet.

"Well, I guess this place is mine. Now go back to Mars," Duck Dodgers says.

He puts Marvin's remains back into his ship as well as his flag.

Suddenly, Marvin comes back out whole.

"Imbecile! I will obliterate you now!" he shouts, with a gun of his own in hand.

Duck Dodgers stops and raises his arms, then looks over Marvin's shoulder.

"There's a meteor coming right behind you!" he warns.

"Cretin! I will not fall for your attempt at trickery!" Marvin responds.

"No, there's a meteor that's going to hit you!" Duck Dodgers says again.

Marvin rolls his eyes and shakes his head.

Suddenly a large rock crushes Marvin into the ground.

"Ooowww..." he groans.

"Well, I told him to look." Duck Dodgers sighs.

A lime green canine tackling him causes his ray gun to fall out of his grasp.

"K-9..." Duck Dodgers grumbles.

K-9 gleefully barks as their victim squirms for freedom.

"Excellent work, K-9!" Marvin commends, a bit muffled.

The martian digs like a mole from under the meteor and pops out of the sandy ground.

"Take him to the ship!" he commands.

K-9 clamps its jaws onto Duck Dodgers' feathery corpse prior to lifting him.

Marvin chuckles, then notices the meteor is flashing light blue.

After he obliterates it, a slip of paper remains on top of the shattered rock.

The note is scooped up, and what Marvin sees causes his eyes to shine.

Meanwhile, Duck Dodgers removes a bone from their pocket.

"Go fetch!" they shout, before hurling it into the air.

K-9 drops their captive then races towards the bone.

"Hey!" Marvin exclaims.

He points his ray gun at his duck nemesis, who is now serpentining to their own weapon.

Despite Duck Dodgers' maneuvers, the spaceman is shot down, and immediately blacks out.

A frigid silver floor.

Blinding bulbs of green light.

K-9 holding a bone in their mouth on the other side of prison bars.

This is what Marvin's prisoner wakes up to.

The duck gets onto their feet, but suddenly tumbles backwards.

"Ha! You ignoramus! Using my Energy Drainer 4000, I have depleted you of any way to escape!" Marvin gloats.

"Ya coulda just used anesthesia," Duck Dodgers moans.

"Oh, I could've, but I wanted you to be awake and witness the destruction of Earth!" Marvin tells him.

Their captive refuses to even flinch.

"What? Aren't you scared of your home planet going kaboom?" the captor inquires.

"The amount of times you've tried that is more than the amount of planets there are in the galaxy," Duck Dodgers says.

Marvin scowls.

"This time it will be different!" he declares.

That is when Earth appears outside the ship's front window.

The martian pounds the "fire" button.

Nothing happens.

"How?!" Marvin roars.

Duck Dodgers yawns.

His enemy takes out a flip phone and dials.

"Hello? Is this ACME Customer Support? Good. My ACME Planet Destroyer is not working!" he complains.

Meanwhile, Duck Dodgers grabs K-9's attention by whistling.

"Got some coffee around here? I'll play fetch with you if you bring me some," the prisoner offers.

The dog tilts their head.

"I bet your owner never plays fetch with you," Duck Dodgers adds.

K-9 sadly looks back at Marvin, who is jumping up and down.

"No warranty?! Absurd!" he cries out.

His canine leaves, then later returns with a mug of coffee on a tray.

Duck Dodgers chugs down the coffee, and immediately rises to his webbed feet.

"Like I said, shoulda used anesthesia," he says.

K-9 wags their tail.

"Drat. I'm afraid I can only play fetch with you if I'm not caged in this cold, bright, awful cell," Duck Dodgers sighs.

He then sees the dog drop their bone in order to hold a key with their mouth and turn the cell's lock open.

"Attaboy," the duck whispers, prior to snatching the bone.

"Go fetch!" he yells while throwing it.

K-9 runs off, while Duck Dodgers creeps towards Marvin.
