Re-opening
However you may want to live your life
There are always hindrances and thorns
Your bright and beautiful day may be filled of strife
Your soft pathway may be dotted with horns
I fell and fell again I did
Not the rainbow-colored bid
I forgot and overtainted did I become
Dullness and darkness I've gotten some
With nothing to go to except Him and poetry
I cannot help but open this again I say
Substandard my standards be or not
I still long for my version without a cut
And so this compilation I re-open
My poetic finery in a metaphorical oven
Whatever I may experience or face
I shall do it with this and His grace
