I looked around to find the guy I was supposed to be tutoring
Alex: oh hi Lauren!!
Lauren: I'm really sorry Alex! I'm kinda busy right now. I'm looking for this guy I have to tutor.
Alex: weird. I'm looking for my tutor.
Lauren: wait, did ms. Max tell you about the tutor thing?
Alex: yes.
Lauren: then I guess I'm in the right spot!
Alex: so am I!
Me and Alex sat at one of the tables
Lauren: so she told me that we needed to work on, square roots?
Alex: yes.
Lauren: but that's the first lesson of the year.
Alex: I know.
Lauren: and its January?
Alex: Lauren, since you my tutor I needs to tell you this. I have ADHD. I'm dumb ok?? Not everyone can be amazing like you! Just teach me and get this over with.
Lauren: I'm sorry I offended you. But it's ok! I'll teach you everything you need to know!
Alex: great!
Lauren: so square roots are easy once you know how do them.
Alex: ok, so, how do I do them?
Lauren: to square a number, just multiply it by itself.
Alex: wait so, just multiply the number by itself?
Lauren: yeah that's mostly what you do.
Alex: my teachers made it so confusing!
Lauren: what she say?
Alex: she said that I had to split the numbers, and something about the last Number and first and second? I wasn't listening.
Lauren: I wouldn't be either. Lets try a problem.
Alex: oh god what is it?
Lauren: what is the square root of three?
Alex: um................ 6?
Lauren: what is 3x3?
Alex: 9.
Lauren: there's your answer!
Alex: ohhhh I get it!
Lauren: soon you'll be doing fractions squared.
Alex: what? I'm horrible at fractions!
Lauren: don't worry!! I may not teach you today, but you will be catched up with your class in no time!
Alex: I really appreciate you helping me. Thanks.
Lauren: anytime Alex! You know I'll be down to help you.
I stared into his brown eyes and smiled.
Then I shook my head to get back on track.
Alex: I'm sorry to interrupt you but, maybe next week we can meet somewhere else? Like, a cafe?
Lauren: that's a great idea!!!! How about that donut place down on lysuer street?
Alex: oh I love that place!!!!! It's perfect.
I stared at him again, smiling, he didn't see a problem with it.
Marissa: LAUREN!!
My daydreaming was immediately stopped when Marissa came over.
Marissa: oh I see what going on here!!!
Alex: you do?
Marissa: you guys are secretly dating!!
Lauren: what?
Marissa: I knew it!!! I knew it!!!
Lauren: no Marissa! We're, study buddies!
Marissa: you didn't tell me that you were in his class!!
Lauren: it was never brought up!
Marissa: are you kidding me? I talk about Alex everyda..I mean sometimes. Yeah.
Lauren: well there was no point!
Marissa: ugh. When will you come home?
Lauren: whenever we're done!
Marissa: fine! Bye!!
Lauren: bye!
Marissa walked away all pouty.
Lauren: siblings am I right?
Alex: I know right? My older brother is soooo annoying.
Lauren: oh my gosh! Me too!! Marissa is my older sister!
Alex: no offense but, I don't see how you put up with her.
Lauren: me neither.
Alex: do you remember anything that happened in elementary school?
Lauren: yeah important ones
Alex: like the last time we had a long conversation!
Lauren: ohhh yeah!!
Alex: I was diagnosed with ADHD in fifth grade.
Lauren: mhmm
Alex: and I was soo scared I would get bullied.
Lauren: then?
Alex: then you talked to me about your bullying story... and it inspired me. Can you tell it again?
Lauren: sure!
