Yes, this is a thing. XD

So, Book Percy and Musical Percy couldn't be more similar, but they also can't be more different. To start off, his reactions when he is claimed.

The book: I'm pretty much isolated from everyone now, because of who my dad is. I'm miserable.

The musical: My dad's... Poseidon? ... Oh, suhWEET! *cheers and dances around like the adorable idiot he is*

Notice how I said "adorable idiot" instead of just "idiot" or "Seaweed Brain" like I usually would. For some reason, Percy is a more of a cinnamon roll in the musical than the book; and that's probably because of the song "Good Kid".

And Grover in the musical is more than just comic relief

And Grover in the musical is more than just comic relief. He's the optimist and keeps up Percy and Annabeth's spirits so they stay motivated. Also, "Tree on the Hill" makes him even more than that. He's still grieving Thalia's death and is strongly hurt, while in the book, he blamed himself, but not as much as in the musical.

And Annabeth...

I actually don't despise this bitch in the musical. In the book, she seemed so self-centered and stuck-up, and I hated her for it. She seemed to only care about the quest and proving herself to her mother...

Then I heard the song "My Grand Plan".

At first, I just thought, "Oh cool." But as I listened to it more, I realized how upset she is in this song, and how much she just wants to prove she isn't a mistake. That she's worth taking the time to know. That message I relate so much to, and I couldn't hate Annabeth after that.

I still don't ship Percabeth, and probably never will, but at least I won't feel inclined to call Annabeth "Annabitch" anymore.

And I got bored and looked up the lyrics to the song "Drive", and I saw this ↓

IT IS!

After the initial "HOLY HERA BIANCA DI MOTHERFUCKING ANGELO MADE A CAMEO!" I took a moment to think. They could've not given this girl a name and made her a random girl. But the fact that they decided to make this girl Bianca shows some real investment. And probably foreshadowing another Percy Jackson musical...?

They mention both Bianca and dam jokes in this song, it's gold.

And, lastly, my favorite song ↓

This song can be a rant all on it's own.

Firstly, they say "We're lost in the woods, and we'll never leave New Jersey if none of us are making a decision!" But nearly thirty seconds earlier, Percy suggested going in a direction (which counts as making a decision) but was shot down by Grover.

The squirrel scene! I can't choose which is funnier; the squirrel scene, or the poodle scene from the book.

Percy is a complete idiot for choosing to go to the Garden Emporium. Literally anywhere else would be fine!

STOP BEING SO ADORABLY STUPID, PERSEUS! XD
