Amelia

Everett

----------

"Insomnia Helpline, how may I help you?"

"Hey Amelia.."

"Everett, that you?"

"Yeah," he says before chuckling awkwardly.

"I haven't spoken to you in forever."

"Yeah, that's because things got a little busy after my birthday. It doesn't help that a couple days ago, I got sick."

"Really? Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah, nothing mum's homemade chicken soup can't fix."

"True.."

There was an awkward silence as the two didn't know what to say. Normally, when none of them talked, it would be a comfortable silence. But this was just awkward.

"So, how's life."

"Good, I got another constant client."

Ouch. That hurt.

"Should I be jealous someone's gonna take my favorite helpline girl from me?"

"Should if you don't call more often."

Amelia meant that as a joke but now she just sounded rude.

"I will, I will."

"Good. Because I missed you," she confessed, sighing.

"Me too. I miss our talks."

"Yeah."

And just like that, everything was back to normal.
