39 | "You're not fooling anyone"

I was about to eat it before Noah sighed, a smirk playing on his lips,

"As much as I'd love to see you eat that apple, I'm not that heartless" he chuckled and I furrowed my eyebrows,

"It's Styrofoam, you idiot" he laughed at me when I didn't reply; he flicked my forehead before putting the apple back in his bowl.

Realization dawned on me and my mouth formed an O shape.

"That didn't stop you before!" I pointed out, leaning in to flick his forehead but he held my wrists back as I struggled against him, he didn't look like he was breaking a sweat while I was pushing him back with all my weight.

"I'm going out with Megan tonight so I'll probably be back later tonight" he told me and I nodded,

"Hey- you know we've never spoken about you and Megan" I said and he raised his eyebrows at me,

"What about us?"

"Are you two dating or what?" I asked exasperatedly, "Mia and I are dying to know"

"It's unofficially official or was it officially unofficial?"

"Huh?"

"I have no idea either, that's what Megan said"

"Official is a weird word" I pointed out and Noah nodded, "official official official official official"

"God, you're annoying" Noah said, walking away.

I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Oh and Alex?" Noah called out from the staircase; I hummed in response,

"You're not fooling anyone".

"You're not fooling anyone? What's that even supposed to mean?" I tell Mia exasperatedly on Friday as we ran laps during cheerleading,

"He obviously knows something's up you, dumbass" Mia rolled her eyes,

"Right" I said as Monique yelled at us to do another lap.

"How's Beth?" Mia asked me and I shrugged,

"Better, I think" she nodded.

"Is it just me or does Anna keep staring at us?" Mia whispered harshly to me and I turned around to look at Anna but Mia gripped me arm tightly,

"Don't turn around, you idiot!" she told me,

"Then how am I supposed to tell if she's staring at us?!",

I turned around and sure enough Anna was looking directly at us, when she met my gaze she waved at me and I waved back while giving her a tight smile.

"Maybe she just wants to talk to us?" I offered and Mia rolled her eyes,

"Something smells fishy"

"Are you sure it's not you from all this running Monique's making us do" I snorted and Mia punched my arm,

"Ow!"

"I'm serious!"

"Hi guys!" Anna said from beside Mia.

"Another lap!" Monique yelled at us and I groaned,

"This is going to be the death of me," I told them,

"It's not that bad" Anna said, smiling at us.

Mia turned away from Anna, shooting me a look that Anna couldn't see; she raised her eyebrows at me.

"Monique makes cheerleading torture" Mia said exasperatedly, looking straight ahead.

"Then maybe Monique should reevaluate your position of co-captain on the team," Anna retorted before jogging away,

Mia's mouth went slack.

"That bitc-"

"Hi Mia, hey Alex" Will said, taking Anna's spot and jogging beside Mia.

Mia's frown immediately turned into a smile.

"Hi Will" her tone instantly brighter and I smiled at him,

"When you get home, check under the doormat," Will told her before jogging back off to the football team.

"You see now that is suspicious," I told Mia,

"But in good kind of way" she gushed.

How's your week been?

I have so many assignments to do this weekend and I'm procrastinating, but I hope this makes up for the shitty marks I'm going to get in my next test (it really doesn't)
