You never had any love for me. It was always simply the way I made you feel. Your words never bounced off my skin. They sank in, and you always heard yourself in the love I had for you. You adored that. That I carried you around and gave you to the ones who had their eyes closed to you. I wasn't raised to keep the sunshine to myself. So it was only natural, to give your brightness to the world. I never thought twice about it. Not until you started hearing yourself in everything but me. Not until you walked right out on my darkest day, promising never to return again.
