Unexpected Love

Hey! So my mom bought me a dairy, said it would be good for me to look back on or show my kids one day. Lame right? Well, either way I guess I could try it out you know?
I'm Daniella Rose. I have a brother, Louis, and we live with my mom. My dad fucked off somewhere when I was 8 but that was 10 years ago so I'm pretty much over it now. My best friend is called Alyssa, I call her Ally, we're inseparable! I'm actually going to her house in about an hour so I better get my stuff together actually.

I'll talk later? No that's not how you do it. Um, see you tomorrow? Fuck it, goodbye dear diary.

I laugh at myself slightly as I throw my diary across the room onto my bed. How the fuck are you supposed to write in those things?
After showering I wrap the towel around my body and walk over to my draws to get some underwear out. As I open up my underwear draw and immediately notice that some of my panties are missing.

"Mom" I yell from the balcony at the top of our staircase.
"Yes honey?" She yells back.
"Do you have any of my laundry anywhere? I'm missing some things." I explain to her, tucking my wet hair behind my ear so I can hear her response better.
"No I don't Dani, I put it all in your room yesterday, what are you missing?" My mom asked me, now standing and the bottom of our staircase looking up at me.
"I-It's fine mom I probably just didn't look hard enough" I lied. She gave a nod and then went back to do whatever she was doing. I walked back into my room closing my door behind me and shook my head. I'm most likely just over thinking this. Maybe I left some at Ally's house? Maybe they just went missing like thing do sometimes. I shrugged before continuing to get ready, choosing to forget about the situation.

Pressing play on my Spotify playlist, music loudly came out of my speaker and I began to dance around the room as I got ready.

"Ally I'm here!" I shout as I enter her house closing the door behind me. Knowing she was in her bedroom I swing my bag onto my back and make my way up the stairs and to her bedroom. As I near the door I hear laughing over the music that she has on letting me know that her boyfriend Chad and his best friend Alex are with her. I push open her door and am greeted by the feeling of Alex's arms wrapping around my body throwing me over his shoulder before slamming me onto Ally's bed. Seconds later I feel the weight of my best friend laying on top of me giggling like a maniac, causing me to start to laugh too.

"You're fucking crazy!" I say in between laughs, attempting to get my breath back and she sits up off me and leans back into the side of her boyfriend smirking at me.
"That's why you love me." She winks. She's right. I don't know what I would do without her, my life would be so pointless if I hadn't met her.

I watched her smile fade as she looked up at her boyfriend with a look of pure love and happiness.
I envied that of her. She's my best friend and I'm happy for her, I love that he's happy and in love but I can't help but feel sad at the same time because I've never felt pure happiness or experienced what love feels like. I know I know I'm only 18 and I have my whole life ahead of me but I just can't shake the feeling that I'm never going to truly find the love of my life. My thoughts were interrupted by Alex nudging me with his elbow.

''You alright?" He whispered, his brows furrowing.
"I'm fine" I smiled, knowing that he would believe me. "Lets go get ice cream!" I said jumping up off of the bed. I know Ally never turns down ice cream and it would be fun to go out for a little bit since it was almost dark now.
"YESS!!" Ally hollered, clearly very much approving of my idea. The four of us left Ally's house and within 5 minutes we were driving through the dimly lit streets of California, with the music blasting, on our way to get some delicious ice cream.
