37 | "This sounds a lot like a break up"

Start from the beginning

"I think that's enough for today" Mia told us, shooting a glare at Monique and for a few seconds they were involved in an intense stare off until Monique eventually looked away and walked off,

"God damn she's annoying" Mia said to me as she joined Anna and I,

"I think she's nice" Anna commented and Mia and I stopped in our tracks.

We had a dumbfounded look on our faces,

Then Mia started laughing hysterically, "That made my day" she said wiping the tears from her eyes,

"I was serious" Anna said,

"I'm sure you were" Mia replied, still laughing her ass off.

Mia and I began walking off the her car until Anna jogged to catch up to us again.

"Yeah- so listen, do you mind dropping me off at Logan's place? He was supposed to be my ride but he just texted me a while ago saying he reached home and to call him to pick me up but I don't really want to be a bother so..." Anna trailed off and I looked over to Mia for her answer,

"Uh- yeah, why not" Mia replied.

"Lexie!" Beth squealed excitedly and jumped into my arms, "I missed you!"

"I missed you too," I told her, smiling widely, "How was school?"

"Bad! That guy Lucas I was telling you about? He was holding hands with Summer in the lunch line today!"

"Who's Lucas?" Logan said walking into the living room,

"No one!" Beth said quickly as I placed her down on the floor,

"Hi, honey" Logan greeted me,

"Gag" I said before he pressed his lips against mine, I'm already sick of the nickname but I know I'll never get tired of the feeling of the sparks I feel when Logan kisses me or the butterflies that flutter in my stomach when he's around.

"Never thought you were the one for PDA" Anna commented as she walked in and sat on the couch followed by Mia who was covering Beth's eyes from us,

"May I remind you there are children present" Mia said, rolling her eyes.

I laughed at that and so did Logan, his laugh made me feel happy and comfortable despite the shit storm brewing just outside.

Our lives might seem okay to others but pull back the curtain and if they found out anymore we'd probably have to kill them.

No?

Okay.

There has been no sign of Elliot and that's what worries me. We also haven't been looking for Elliot as much as before because we honestly need a break. After everything that I've witnessed I feel like we're barely scratching the surface of what Elliot is planning. What he's done so far is just to threaten us and so many innocent lives have been lost because of it, but the worst thing about this is that it's not even his endgame.

"Earth to Alex" Mia snapped her fingers in front of my face and in return I let out a very unladylike grunt of acknowledgement.

"Classy" Mia snorted, "Out of like every girl in Grove Hill you choose this one?"

"And I'd do it again in a heartbeat" he smiled lovingly at me,

If I have a penny every time this boy makes me blush.

But Mia's words ran a little deeper than that, I knew what Logan was known for; gangs, guns, drugs and all that jazz. The kids in Grove Hills know Logan pretty well, it's a small city and almost everyone knows everyone. I've ignored the rumours because that's all I knew them as until I got to know the life that my brother and my boyfriend live in.

I see the dirty glares the girls give me as I walk down the school hallways, it's not hard to figure out that Logan and I are dating by how much we hang out with each other, the small kisses here and there and the hand holding. I ignore the stares and whispers but I do wonder sometimes why Logan actually likes me, I wasn't anything special.

If anything I was a burden, Logan shouldn't have to deal with me or my problems, it might even be so much easier if we hated each other.

But then I look up at him, his green eyes with those hazel flecks that I'll never get tired of staring into and those dimples at appear every time he sees me or those soft pink lips that I just want to kiss the daylights out of.

So I do,

I reach up on my tiptoes and kiss him because I felt the need to show him how much he means to me.

"Your aim is getting better" he commented with that devilish smirk and I can't help but smile along with him.

"Think of the children!" Mia yells, covering Beth's eyes with her hand.
