dear alaska,
it's your birthday today. happy birthday angel. i hope heaven's throwing a birthday party for you.
i made your favourite cake: red velvet, with cream cheese frosting. i never understood why you liked it so much, but i always made it for you anyways.
i would do anything for you.
especially if it made you happy.
so i baked the cake, put the candles on, and lit it up. then i stared at the flames, smiled sadly, and blew them out with tears in my eyes.
yeah, i cried.
because you weren't there to celebrate your birthday.
and it's not fair, alright?
you could be having the time of your life up there, without me, and i wouldn't even know.
why did you leave me?
it could been like the old times, alaska; just you and i, facing the world.
but you're gone.
and the birthday bash? terrible.
because you weren't there to celebrate it with me.
-everett.
