The cold air was wrapped around my body, cooling it down. Only wearing my night dress, I ran out of the burning mansion.
I ran down the big alleys, as far as I could. I didn't know where I was going, but I also didn't really care.
Was bad luck haunting me? I didn't know. Why should I? I was still a little kid when it happened. I didn't understand anything that happened in the world.
I had maybe been in the age of 6 or 7. An innocent mind, without any knowledge of the real world, where no one cares about you.
As I ran and cried, people stared at me as if air came from another planet. They didn't bother to help me, they only had thoughts for their selves.
I hid in a small, dark Street. I could barely see anything as my feet bumped into something soft.
The soft ball hissed at me. I noticed that it was a cat. It was raven black and had red eyes. I've never seen such a cat.
I tried to calm him and carefully reached out my hand. He snuggled against it and let out a barely noticeable purr. I gently pat the cat's head.
This cat never left my side again. All the years I lived on the streets, all the years I begged for money... He was always with me. He was my best friend.
I could talk to him, cry with him, laugh with him... He was everything I had left.
I always had that one favourite name, so I gave it to him.
Sebastian.
Years went by, I was still living in the street and had stolen another bread roll from the bakery. I hid in a box and shared the small bread with Sebastian.
He meowed loudly, It was noticeable that he had been very hungry. I decided to give him the rest of my bread. I wanted at least him to survive.
My stomach let out a loud growl. Sebastian licked his paw and had some kind of look on him as if he wanted to say sorry.
Suddenly, the box opened, the man from the bakery found me. He pulled me and the cat out of the box and threw both of us on the floor.
I looked at Sebastian worried. He didn't move. "Sebastian!" I shouted and shook his fragile body. He moved his bars a little.
The man laughed. "What an odd name for a cat. But it seems you care more about him than yourself?" He chuckled and kicked him.
I couldn't believe my eyes as Sebastian was dying in front of me.
He was all that I had left.
---
"Kyaa!" I shouted and sat up. I was sweating and breathing heavily. I dreamed from my past again.
"What's wrong...?" Sebastian sat up sleepily and turned on the lights. He'd immediately been awake as he noticed I was crying.
"Hey, (n/n)! What's wrong?" He asked worried and hugged me. I couldn't help but cry into his chest.
"You can talk to me." He whispered and held my head. I backed off of him and got to the very other end of the bed.
"What's wrong? It's me, Sebastian !"
Just as those words left his lips, I felt myself going insane. It's Sebastian. That raven black hair, just like the smooth fur of a cat's. Those crimson eyes that stared deeply into mine.
"Sebastian!" I shouted and cried.
What was happening?
