Sang is chosen for the Culling, a series of fights to the death that are generally played by men. In fact, Sang is the first woman selected, well, ever. As the games start, and Sang forms bonds with a group of nine men, she comes to realize that the...
If she didn't remember us, then it meant she most likely had no memory of the event that took her away anyway. Now was not the time to delve into solving this mystery - not with everything else going on. I wanted to ask her, to tell her, to find out more.
But then there was also the fact that if she ever found out, then I'd be sure to lose her.
I couldn't lose her again, she was everything. I loved her so much, she was already imprinted in my life, and now I realized that she always had been.
I had my hand on her arm and I could feel her shaking, she looked like a beautiful, but scared, angel. I fought back a frown, a lot of the suffering in this girl's life had been my fault or the fault of my family. However, despite everything she had gone through she still was kind, thoughtful, sweet and beautiful inside and out.
I didn't deserve her, but I refused to give her up.
"Miss Sorenson," she looked up at me as I called her name. "Darling, everything will be alright."
Sang bit her lip again as she fought back another shiver, of a different sort this time. My god, this woman had no idea what she was doing to me. To us. The last few days had been pure torture.
I didn't know about love yet, she had a lot to sort out there. However, I knew for sure that she lusted after us. There was no question about that. Of course, I don't think she noticed anything different about our reactions to her, considering that we had been attracted to her in that way this entire time.
So we had made a foolproof plan to let Sang lead in any type of physical situation. Sean, North and Gabriel had said it was stupid, but what did they know? Then Silas had come to me this morning stating that sleeping with her was cruel, but I didn't feel bad for him. What was cruel was that she hadn't slept in bed with me yet.
Maybe someday soon?
"Mr Blackbourne." She responded to me in that sweet, soft voice of hers. Just the way she said my name made me want to wrap her in my arms and keep her away from everything bad in the world. It made me feel like there was something redeemable about being me, and that I could be saved. Honestly, it didn't matter if it was Owen or Mr Blackbourne, but something about the way she said the latter made it seem like I was alright to be.
She meant something precious to each of us, and that would be between her and each one of them, but to me? Sang Sorenson was my salvation.
She placed her small hand on my arm. "Mr Blackbourne, are you ok?"
I grabbed her hand and brought it to my lips, and she blushed. "Perfect, Miss Sorenson. Absolutely perfect."
