Gaga has stated many times that the number one thing she hates is money, so why not right a song about it. Though Gaga doesn't mention that she hates money, the song is about all the things that need money (islands, boats, jets etc.)
This song was originally written for another artists but Gaga thought it was too 'Gaga' and she put it onto her debut album (it was originally going to be exclusively on the Canadian version of this album. Gaga has also said this is the only song she would skip over from this album.
