Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.

Lesson: Ps. 46 in the Bible is titled" A song to the choir director set to Alamoth." The Greek translation of this word means "hidden things".  This verse is there to remind us that sometimes we need to take some time away from the bustle of the world and just do some meditating on God's Word and God Himself. So many times in this crazy world where everything is about saving time and rushing through things, we forget how important it is to stop and spend time with the Lord in meditation and prayer. The last part of the verse means the more time we spend doing what the Lord asks, the more time we spend pleasing and glorifying Him. I believe this verse is a great reminder for us to spend time with the Lord daily so that we are prepared to fight the good fight.

Prayer Application:  If you are struggling to keep up with your daily devotions, and you come across this verse it is a great inspiration for us to ask the Lord to help us take time out of our day to spend with Him. In general, this verse applies to anything we need pray about. We just need to take the time to pray.

Life Application: Simply this, take time out of your day to really spend with the Lord. Don't rush through it just to get it out of the way.
