I woke up to a sweet filling the home and the sounds of birds chirping in the window. I went to inspect what the smell was and found Forth is making pancakes in the kitchen. I sat at the table and he smiled broadly at me saying good morning. I loved the sound of his voice, and could listen to it all day. Forth made pancakes, eggs, and bacon, and I made fresh orange juice to contribute. We ate, smiling and laughing with each other. Jokingly, we started throwing our food at one another, and before I knew it, it was an all out food fight that ended with left over pancake batter in my hair and clothes. I decided on a shower before getting to work, and offered one to Forth who looked a lot better than I did. He said it wasn't necessary but appreaciated. A little disappointed, I retreated to my bathroom imagining ideas to turn into a truly master bathroom. From my window, I saw Forth spraying himself with the hose, his wet shirt clinging to his abs. His muscular form made me blush and I quickly left the view as to not be seen. After getting dressed, I sat on the floor in the kitchen thinking about what to paint the inside of the home. Forth found me after finishing the lawn, a little sweaty to my benefit, and asked me what I was doing.
"Trying to choose paint colors. I don't know if I want to do color or just plain white throughout the home."
"Hmm...a truly puzzling question." To take my mind off paint, Forth and I finished to downstairs rooms. Only thing left the kitchen and bathrooms. We rode to the home depot stone a half hour away in Forth not so brand new four wheels. We picked out white marble counter top for the kitchen and all the bathrooms, and a farmhouse sink. I fell in love with the vintage white appliances and vowed to keep them in my labor of love. Forth helped pay for the cost, and I made a mental note to get a job for any other future costs, primarily a claw foot tun for my bathrooms. We started installing the fixtures to the kitchen and downstairs bathroom, and i looked on my iPad for ideas during our break. Forth stayed for dinner, and I joked he might as well stay in the house since he's here all day anyways. Forth sat in silence before smiling and continuing on with the conversation. He left after thanking me for dinner with another promises he'd return. I could't sleep, and stayed up on the other bathrooms. It was 4am in the morning when to bed. Forth was working when I woke up at 10. He let me sleep, probably seeing all the work I've done it the bathrooms. When I walked in one of the guest rooms to change the broken glass in the window, I noticed a suitcase on the wall next to door. I simply smiled and continued with my work. I'll bring it up to Forth later. I asked Forth how long he wanted to stay at dinner, and he said he didn't know yet. Since all the furniture I had was my bed and a table in the kitchen, we agreed the bed was big enough for the two of us tonight, and would get furniture tomorrow. I ended up getting a job at the hardware store down the street where Forth worked, and worked all day for two weeks to save money. Forth didn't mind, as he liked my driven attitude and work ethic. Even though we didn't work on the same house, he stayed over, and made breakfast while I made dinner. Often, we would go on the roof and look at the stars before heading off to bed. Forth would often hold me in his arms, and I would fall asleep in his arms. It wasn't weird, it's just what we did.
When I felt like had an adequate amount of the money, Forth and I went to a vintage shop to look for furniture. We ended up buying a couch and 2 chairs from the sixties, and some dressers so we could stop living out of our suit cases. We went to the fabric store and bought tons of velvet in deep, rich colors. We spent the day refurbishing the couches and chairs, tufting it decoratively. It was painstaking work, but it was worth it in the end. I decided to leave the walls white, and it looked beautiful with the deep blue and emerald velvet furniture. My house become very beautiful. Finally.
