Arthur went to the stables, the training ground, Gwen's house and Morgana's chambers; Still no sign of Merlin.
He asked around, but no one had seen him since before midday, and finally Arthur went to find Gwaine. This was his last resort, and he was fuming as he hammered on the drunkard knight's door.

Gwaine stepped out and regarded the Prince with bleary eyes and tousled hair. He was topless and leaned against the door frame as he asked,
"Yeah?"

"Have you seen my useless excuse of a servant?" Arthur demanded.

Gwaine scratched his head.
"Merlin?" He said. "Nah, not at all today. I've just got up."

"Gwaine! We've got a knighting ceremony this evening! You should have been preparing your speech!" Arthur was so exasperated that he stormed down the corridor without waiting for a reply from Gwaine.

"That's 'Sir Gwaine' to you!" Gwaine called after him.
