Best friends (Under Editing)

Prologue

He stood there, a man among men. His very presence exerted an aura of dominance. The male was confidently conversing with many other people with the equal status quo as him.

'I'll be a rich man one day, don't underestimate me!'

He surely had, he had also become much more handsome than he was before. His piercing blue eyes, held a strange tempest. His jaws perfectly set and his smile, bright yet distant, like a beautiful star that twinkled from afar.

He was in an impeccable black suit just like his hair that were combed back perfectly. The male's silver tie had been perfectly tucked in his coat and was unnecessarily straightened to catch attention of people (which was also unnecessary since his very existence drew people towards him.) His silver cuff links glinted in the dim lights of the banquet hall, from a vantage point, one could catch a glimpse of his Rolex watch that was loosely wrapped around his wrist.

He was nothing less than Adnois.

You sighed.

What a strange turn had life taken in ten years. His was a mogul and you were nothing but a jobless young lady who was temporarily working as a waitress that needed money to pay the rent of her apartment which was nothing less than a rabbit hole.

You flinched.

You totally did not want to think about your dreaded apartment right now, not especially when you just saw your best friend after years.

"Stop wasting time. Go get those drinks out there!" The manager yelled at you, making you oblige immediately and leave in a haste.

''What a miserable life.'' You muttered not looking ahead and bumping into someone, causing the drinks to spill on the person in front of you.

'Oh boy... A miserable life indeed.'

You looked up to see two pairs of blue intense blazing eyes glaring at you.

"Could you please see where you are going, miss? Looking what you have done! You just spoiled my coat. The stains of the wine don't fade, don't you know that? Who is going to pay for this?" The male growled in controlled annoyance. You would have found his voice swoon-worthy, but at that moment you felt something snap in your chest.

Your heart.

Your best friend didn't know you anymore.

(Ah yes due to some circumstances I had to give up on his desire for a while so to make up for it I'm publishing this and everyday a new chapter will be out. It's a short story so don't expect long chapters 😅 but I'll try my best to make it read worthy. ❤ comment vote and recommend)
