Chapter 5~Meeting My Cousins

I woke up and looked at the mirror. My eyes were a bit puffy but it wasn't obvious.

"Artemis! Get ready! Remember that we have to go to my friends party! Well, you might meet some boys there and some of my friends sons and daughters!"

Oh shoot! I almost forgot! That's weird that mom's mentioning boys even though she knows I'm with Michael. But he cheated on me. I'm still angry at him.

I did my morning routine and headed straight down to the dining room. I ate some baked macaroni. Some ohers might not know this type of food because it's my mom's special.

It tasted so good... wait. That sounded so dirty! What is going on with me? I'm just 15 for Pete's sake!

Oh! I need a very good party dress! And I had to remove my glasses. I know I never mentioned I wore glasses. I wore glasses when Cass was all flirty to Klara.

I went in my closet and chose a dress. I need Suzanne right now but I have no time.

And I found something sparkling from behind all the dresses.

It was a one strapped dress that has a flower on its waistline. It was layered. It even had a petal thingy crossing my chest. And it was sparkly.

OMG, this is PERFECT!

I added curls at the end of my hair. Like what Suzanne used to do. I added a purple headband that has a flower. I had bangs so I used the headnand to take it off my face.

Last but not the least, my shoes. I wore a black flowered high heels. When I looked at the mirror. I looked good. Wow. I didn't know I could look good but I'm a fail when it comes to fashion but now, I'm A+

"Artemis! You better not be late! Come down!" Mom's so impatient but it's cool.

I took one last glance at the ripped pieces of the picture in the trash. I don't care anyway. I gotta have the time of my life without Mikey. I have to clear my mind from him.

We're already over! He just wants to be with Trisha. I should stop thinking about this and take a break.

"Artemis! Come down! We don't have much time!"

Mom screamed. I got my Prada bag and went straight downstairs. Mom looked very shocked.

Even though I know what's going on, I gave mum a 'What?' look. My mom gave me a very sweet smile that turned into tears of joy.

Mum would always mock how my fashion is and say that I look like a rubber mat.

We got a cab and talk about random stuff.

"Artemis. I got you your favorite chocolate! Don't finish it all or you'll get fat dear." Mum handed me a pink checkered box with a ribbon on top. I unknot the ribbon and opened the box. Lindor!! I saw a tag inside.

It says: 'Dear Artemis, I wuv ya! -Mum'

Seriously? What kind of letter is that?

My mom doesn't like me to get fat. She wants me to be thin and sexy but I'm not really. She used to be a nurse that's why sometimes she knows how to deal with medications and stuff like that.

I know that I mentioned that I was fat but I was just insecure. But, I'm chubby.

"So dear. Some of your cousins are Ralph, Isaac, Tom and Dylan that would be there. You have to be kind to them. You're actually the only girl among the cousins that's why you're favorited by your aunts." Mom explained.
