Megan told me once that writing down my thoughts in a diary might help me stop avoiding my bad memories of the past, so I'm giving it a shot. Whether or not it actually works out, I think that it'll be important to remember how everything plays out starting now. We are trying something new, after all.

At the very least, I owe it to Megan to try. So:

Diary:

One day, when I have more time, I might tell you about our long and tragic history of being penniless, homeless orphans.

This was by choice.

I mean, we're underage. We were given the standard choices, but all of those paths would have led to the same destination. My brother and I would have to be separated.

And I hate to say it, but my brother and I are so incredibly dependent on each other that separation - again - would likely only lead to disaster.

So, in order to avoid sub-par foster homes, mental asylums and experimental facilities, we decided to run from our pasts - pasts filled with bloodshed and trauma, death and abuse - on our consciences and on other people's.

We aren't innocent - not by a long shot. In fact, we've committed an almost-excessive number of crimes including, but not limited to arson, battery, contempt of cop, grievous bodily harm, and murder. We might have even done some things not considered crimes yet.

Of course, there was good reason for all this.

At least...I think it's a good reason.
