Aaaaaand I'm back!😎
I have finally submitted my assignment and have a few chill days on my hand. So, I'm gonna take advantage and write like a fiend now!😀 Don't worry, I'll update other stories too. Just have a bit patience with me, please, babes!💗

Also, wrote this last night. Took me almost 4 hours.😩 Getting into the groove after a long time is tough. So, if the chapter feels off or scattered or full of errors, please forgive me.🙏🙏

Those who have nominated me for the wattpad Literacy Award, guys, I can't tell you how touched and loved I felt by your gesture! I don't care about winning. You guys nominating me on your own free will is more than winning for me!! I love you!💗💗

Those who haven't received my reply for your comments, I'm so sorry but I was avoiding wattpad these past few weeks because not being able to write makes me physically sick.🙇🙇🙇

Special thanks to-

@kittycatsc and struggle_wind for making those wonderful covers for my new one shot and other stories!!😍😍 You guys RAWK!!🙌🙌🙌

Okay, off with the chapter now! Hope you enjoy the read!

Chapter-12

WeiZhou stared at his own reflection as his thumb ghosted over the spot. A red smudge that was his birthmark. With a last glance at it he turned away from the mirror. His fingers trembled slightly as he took up his phone.

After a few rings a tentative “Hello?” could be heard from the other side.

It had been two days since WeiZhou had encountered JingYu on that abandoned rooftop. Two days since he had known Zhou’s story. Two days since his life turned upside down completely. And this was the first time he had made any sort of contact with JingYu.

“JingYu?” His voice carried the tremor that ran through his body.

“Zhou?” The concern was instant, obvious.

“Can you meet me today?”

A second’s pause.

“Are you all right? Is anything wrong? What’s wrong?”

“Nothing...I- I just want to see you. Can you come?”

Of course! Of course, I will meet you. Should I come right now?”

WeiZhou looked at the broad daylight outside.

“No no, don’t come now-“

“But I will if you need-“

“No, it’s-“ he took a calming breath, fully aware that if his voice reflected his inner distress, JingYu would come running, risking his life. “It’s nothing serious, I am fine.”

“Are you safe?”

“Yes, I’m safe and in my room right now. I’m all right.”

The other side went quiet for a moment. Probably, gauzing how much lies were in that assurance.

“When and where do you want to meet?

“After Sundown. And you can pick me up from my home. That is- if that’s okay with you.”

“It’s absolutely fine. I’ll be there at six.”

WeiZhou swallowed. The words that he wanted to say so desperately bubbling up his throat, choking his windpipe.
