I took a quick look at my watch to see how much time I had left, "Shit, its almost 2 p.m." I shoved the rest of the salad into my mouth and hurried to my next lecture. "Jia, wait!" I stopped in the middle of the hallway and turned around "Oh hey Simon!".
Simon was a friendly guy I met at the university, well actually he met me. It was at my first day at university and I had some free time so I decided to eat something alone at the campus because I didn't know anyone in that time. Apparently I must've seemed really lonely and that's when Simon came by and introduced himself, after a short chat he began to tell me everything he knew about 'World of Warcraft'. All I could remember was that it's some kind of game. I wasn't really intrested in it. But it was still fun to watch him telling the story so passionately, his glasses would slip of everytime 5 seconds because of his gestures. Though, he was the ultimate geek (at least in my opinion) we became good friends.
A streak of his curly, brown hair fell into his face as he ran towards me from the other end of the hall. His thin stature seemed even thinner in his oversized Starwars-shirt. "Haha, you look like a bunny with those stuffed cheeks" he laughed as he pointed at my face. Oh crap, I forgot the salad. My face turned slightly red as I swallowed the rest of my food. "So, why did you call me?" I tried to change the subject as we continued walking "Yeah right, today is the opening of that new club everyone is talking about..." He gave me an expectant look. I shrugged my eyebrow "aaaand?" "Aaaand I want you to come with me", "not possible" I shook my head in disagreement "why not? I don't go out often but now that I want to you don't even want to be part of the event?" he groused. "I already go with Stacey" I stated "...but I think it wouldn't be a problem if you come with us". He jumped out of joy which caused me to giggle. "Alright I'll text you later!" "See u!"
After our conversation I arrived too late for the lecture. However it was a stressful day and I couldn't wait to go to that new club tonight. 'I haven't been out for ages... do I even still know how to party?' I asked myself as I finally arrived at my apartment which I shared with my best friend Stacey.
Stacey and I were best friends since middle school, we both moved to Seoul recently. Luckily my mom is Korean and that's why I am able to communicate with the Natives here. Stacey on the other hand is an fullblood American but I managed to teach her how to start a basic conversation in Korean and I must say I'm pretty proud of myself if you consider her AMAZING ability to stay focused for less than two minutes on something. Did I mention that she is very obsessed with K-pop and this kinda stuff? Even though I never shared this obsession with her we still understand each other and did weird stuff together. It was always fun to hang out with her.
"Oh thank god you're here. I need your help. Which dress suits me better?" Stacey held up two dresses, as I closed the door behind me. "Nice to see you too" I ignored her question and threw myself on the couch. "I'm sorry Jia, but.. you know.. I'm just so excited about the party today", "You go to parties literally every weekend, how do you even manage to keep up your grades?" "Let's just say I'm overly intelligent.. just like Namjoon" she dreamily eyed one of the dresses "Nam-who?" "Nam-JOON aka Rapmonster?" she obviously waited for me to say something "Is.. that a K-pop group?" I asked uncertain. She groaned loudly "He IS from a K-pop group. Do you ever listen to me when I tell you something?" She gave me a pained look "At the beginning I did, but now all you talk about are K-pop boygroups" "That's not true!" She hissed at me and turned around looking as offended as possible "I listen to girlgroups as well". My stomach growled. I was hungry and I didn't feel like starting a discussion right now, so "yeah, whatever" was all I could add to this and jumped off the couch "I'll make something to eat" she followed me to the kitchen, which was connected to our living room. Even though our kitchen was small it contained everything you need to try out new recipes and experiments, unfortunately I never really had time for that. "You still haven't said which dress you like more" I glared at the dresses as I took a sip from a waterbottle. One of them was a tight dress in a glittery champagne color and the second one was a dark green lacey cocktaildress. "The first one" I said and opened the fridge. 'Honestly, I'll die if I don't get something to eat right now'. "Really? I thought the same" she happily replied and left the kitchen. 'how can she always be so energetic.. maybe that's why others keep inviting her to parties all the time?'
