Chapter 3: A friend to be

"Here."

I blinked. "Huh?"

Harley hands a slip of paper to me that had some numbers written on it.

"My number." Harley inches the wrinkled paper towards me more.

I blinked once more. Huh?

"Y-You're giving me your number?" I ask shocked.

Harley nods his head, though his expression was unreadable. "Yeah, I felt like we should talk more," Then he looked at me with a unsure face while he shrugged. "Dunno."

My cheeks flush a pink as I shyly accept his number gently taking the slip of ripped and crumpled paper.

"T-Thank you." I whisper.

Harley nods his head once more scratching the back of his neck in a shy manner. Aww...guess I'm not the only nervous one here.

I look down at the paper to see his number in a messy pen font. I think for a moment and take a notebook out my bag and tear out a piece of, more neater, paper. I grab a pencil and put the small slip of white paper against the rugged wall. I made sure to write it down in the most readable way possible.

I turn my body back around to face the confused Harley. I look down at the paper once more, taking a deep breath, then hand it to him with my eyes shut.

"H-Here's my number!" I announce in the most confident way I knew. Red blush rose in my cheeks as I could feel myself sweat with nervousness.

I stay quiet. Waiting for a response. Then, there was a strong yet soft grip that gently took the slip of paper away from my sticky fingers. I open my eyes to see Harley smiling.

His smile...

I don't think I've noticed this before but, his smile is beautiful.

"Thanks, Angela." Harley chuckles out. "I'll be sure to message you when I get the chance."

I let out a breath of relief as a smile forms on my small lips. "Okay!"

Harley shuts his eyes as he still keeps the smile on his face. "See you around, Angela!"

"B-Bye Harley!"

That was the first time I said his name.

Harley...

Hmm~

W-Woah! Snap out of it you crazy person!

[HARLEY'S POV]

Gah!! Today was too long.

I honestly thought I wasn't gonna make it. I know, I know. You're probably like, "oh my god Harley! Stop being so dramatic!"

But I'm not.

All I really do want is some peace and quiet when working or coming to school. But that's an impossible wish. Every minute some kid is trying to get my attention so I can see his little trick shot (which he never makes) while some girl is hitting on me.

It's so irritating.

I feel like every girl and guy at this school are the same. Their just trying to get attention. The  girls are wearing butt loads of makeup, and acting all attractive to get guys attention. Which, never works for me, by the way.

Well I mean, there is Angela. Thank god she's not like all the annoying girls that I've met. She's actually nice and keeps to herself. Not to mention she doesn't wear makeup and talk like some stuck up brat.
