Rynn watched his father sit upon the throne listening to the common peoples woes and worries. King Ade Jaumaire V was a kind and considerate ruler who always listened to his people. Rynn dreaded the day that he would have to sit upon the throne. He knew he'd never be the great ruler that his father was.
The Great Room was a sight to behold. Two long tables sat on either side of the room for the Lords and Ladies of the court to sit and observe. The walls behind the tables were covered with large windows, one side overlooked the city of Edacia, while the other overlooked the Ocean of Bahareen. The front of the room held the entrance. Huge doors covered with intricate carvings were open for for visitors to come and present a case to the King. Guards were stationed at said entrance and at the bottom of the Kings Rest. The Kings Rest is an elevated landing where the King and his council sit, overlooking the court. The King sat in the front. To his left sat an empty throne for the Queen. The Queens throne has been empty for thirteen years after the death of Queen Adira Bahari. Beside the Queens throne sat a smaller and less extravagant throne for the heir. That is where Rynn sat trying not to fall asleep. A chair for the Kings Right sat on the other side of the King. The Kings Right is the Kings primary advisor. That job currently belonged to the late Queens brother, Adam Bahari. Beside Adam sat the Treasury Councilman Dorvaro Crestling. Those five seats belonged to who not only ran the Kingdom of Reino, but also the entire Realm of Palenii.
There was a lot of responsibility being pushed onto Rynn. He started tracing patterns onto the arm of his throne to try and soothe his boredom. He didn't know how his father could sit there for hours on end. Rynn could never be able to listen to the pleas of citizens. He had no clue what he was going to do when he became King and he would have to come up with solutions to their cries.
"Court dismissed! You may all vacate The Great Room!" Adam Bahari bellowed out. Rynn almost sighed in relief until he thought better of it. The King would have had to have another discussion with him regarding appearances. After every court session the Kings Council has a meeting. The Kings Council dealt with the more serious problems in the realm.
"Great session this day. The people appear to be content." Ade Jaumaire boasted this with joy. It always pleased him when he did well as a King. "Rynn my boy, just you wat until you feel this way after helping the people you serve."
"But father," Rynn started "I thought you said a King serves no man."
"No son, a King serves everyone. I serve every citizen in the Realm of Palenii. Someday you will as well. Your mother used to say that all the citizens were 'her children'." Rynn observed the far away look in his fathers eyes at the mention of his mother. He also took note of the bags under said eyes. Rynn was well aware of his father's insomnia, he has been for thirteen years. He goes through phases of little to no sleep too. Its hard not to after The Night. Dorvaros voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Your Grace, a raven was received from Chiragord this morning regarding your daughter." The councilman said this with a small smile that set Rynn into a feeling of unease. Rynn despised Dorvaro Crestling. The man was a schemer an impeccably rude. Ade always told him to never trust Crestling. Despite his unease, the heir immediately perked up upon hearing word from his sister.
"Is it from Akira or is it from the Queen?" Rynn has been hoping to hear word that his sister Akira will be visiting Edacia to see her family, especially since his only brother was sent away by their father. Rynn glanced at his father and saw that he was doing a better job at concealing his excitement.
"I'm afraid it is from Queen Leera, not your sister. She says that Akira married Prince Vaemon Marrufo almost a fortnight ago. Her Grace says that it was unfortunate you couldn't attend the ceremony and that she will give the couple your regards." The Kings good mood quickly went away upon hearing the news.
"That's outrageous! That is my eldest daughter! Perhaps even my only daughter left alive. How dare she? Send a raven to Castle Marrufo in Chiragord. I wish to invite Leera Marrufo to come visit us in Castle Jaumaire. She will ride to Edacia immediately. She shall bring her family as well. Her sons, her daughters. She must also bring Akira. It has been far too long since I've seen my daughter. Now is there anything else to discuss?" It was clear to Rynn that the King was upset. He knew his father wanted to finish up here and then head down to the crypts to talk to the late Queen.
"Yes Your Grace," Adam Bahari seemed reluctant to bring up another issue " The builders that you sent to Sevoarwen to restore some of the city were mugged and murdered I'm afraid. It seems like that place is a lost cause. There's no family to ensure a functioning civilization. We're wasting too many resources to try and bring it back to what it once was." King Ade sighed, disappointed by the news. Sevoarwen is the capitol of the Kingdom of Regat. It was once one of the greatest cities in the realm. It was held by the Sevoarwen family, however they were all murdered by The Clan. Ever since the fall of the Sevoarwens, the city has been in shambles and there has been no family that has tried to take hold of it. It was once even considered the trade capitol of Palenii.
"I suppose there's nothing we can do. Council dismissed." Ade swiftly stood up and left the Great Room with guards following close behind.

Edacia is the capital of Reino, and the capital of the realm. Whichever family holds Edacia also holds the realm. Currently the Jaumaire family holds Edacia and Ade Jaumaire V is King. Adira Bahari is Queen, however she is dead. Their son Rynn is the heir, he is 22 years old.
Sevoarwen is the capital of Regat. No family holds it so there's basically no government there. Its been left in shambles. Amara Jaumaire resides there.
Chiragord is the capital of Mulki. The Marrufo family holds it. Leera Marrufo is the Queen of Mulki however Ade Jaumaire is above her since he is King of Palenii. Damon Marrufo is the heir.
