Chapter 18: RECOGNITION

“How are you, Montez?” pambungad ni Mari pagkadating sa bahay ng mga Montez.

Nauna na at nakaupo sa pabilog na sofa ang iba pang naroroon, si Zed, Josh, Brix and of course, Raizen.

Mari is with Roi, and yeah, they are closer than weeks ago. She volunteered to join the group of boys to talk about Raizen’s problem.

“Hey Mari.” Bati ng mga lalaki sa kanya. Roi lead him to sit beside Zed. Nasa kaliwa ni Zed si Josh, sa kaliwa ni Josh ay si Brix at katabi ni Brix si Raizen.

Ito talaga ang tinatawag na Round Table Discussion.

Raizen looked stressed. Nakadagdag sa stress niya ang pagdating ni Mari. In a short span of time, kilala niya ito bilang matapang at mapagmahal lalo na sa mga kaibigan nito, sa grupo nila ni Misha. And in fact, she can always meddle into her friends’ affairs for good.

“How’s Misha?”

Ilang araw na niyang gustong kausapin si Misha. Isang linggo na ang nakalilipas simula noong naganap ang annual celebration ng anniversary ng M.M. Corp.

Mari raised her left eyebrow before answering, “Well, Mish is not a crybaby anymore. Do you think she’ll cry in a corner and wait for things to settle between the two of you?”  She sighed, and smiled, “Lecturing her is quite satisfactory.”

“What do you mean Mari?”  gulat na tanong ni Brix.

Si Brix hinindi niya nga alam sa sarili niya kung bakit nakasama sya sa confrontation ngayon, siguro, gusto niya lang suportahan kahit papaano si Raizen, bilang isang kaibigan. Dahil sa totoo lang, silang dalawa lang ni Josh ang nakaaalam ng kwento tungkol kay Elena.

Hindi na kasi nila kasama si Zed nung college dahil sa Europe na ito nag-aral.

“Mish said she’s okay. She promised she will talk to Rai immediately if she got a break from work.”  Sabat ni Zed. “I talked to her personally last night and she looks good.”  He looked at Raizen. “I’m sorry for treating you like a bastard that night. Misha is a precious friend and almost a sister for me.” Then he looked at Mari, “She didn’t cry because he talked to Drex that same night. I don’t know what they discussed, but Misha seems peaceful.”

 

“Teka, bakit naman sa lahat ng tao si Drex pa nag makakapagcomfort kay Mish?” tanong ni Josh.

Tinapik ni Brix si Josh, at tinitigan ito ng masama, kung mayroong hindi marunong makiramdam si Josh talaga iyon.

“Ay, sorry Rai.” Josh blurted. Mas may karapatan namang magtanong si Raizen kung bakit si Drex pa ang susuporta kay Misha sa ganitong pagkakataon.
