The Unexpected

Chapter 19

Jena couldn't believe this was happening. Jack, her Jack. She had sworn he would deflower her when the time was right. How could he cheat on her when everything was so right between them? What had she done wrong? These were the thoughts that crowded innocent Jena's mind as she headed home. As soon as she arrived, her dad greeted,"Hey hun. Came in from work last night when you were already fast asleep .Weren't you happy in Atlanta? Or you just miss your old man? "
"Dad aren't you happy to see me?"
"No honey. Not at all. It's just that you've never liked it here."  Her dad said apologetically and with that hugged her. She felt like crying out her lungs and telling her dad all about her ordeal, but he had told her to leave Atlanta because of her break up with Albert. Now, how will he handle the fact that she had to handle another one? He didn't even know about Jack. Even if she was going to tell him, the time wasn't now. She hugged him tighter, stood on tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek. She had to bite her lips to stop the tears from flowing.
Her dad as if sensing the depth in the moment looked at her and said, "I love you Jen. Since your mum left it's been you who reminds me of her. I swore I'll always protect you. That should explain why I couldn't stand  that Albert hurting you. You can tell me everything."  Jena smiled and said," I know dad."
She left for her room. She had planned on taking the next flight back to Atlanta first thing in the morning  but her dad will know something was up. She decided to stay for a Max of three days. After all, Jack knew nothing about her life in Atalanta and apart from Nick and Mia, no one knew about him. He wouldn't find her even if he tried.The pain will fade and she will be fine. At least, that's what she told herself.
Jack tried contacting her the whole night but fell on her voicemail the whole time.Jena tried not to cry but it seemed like the hardest thing not to do. She fell asleep pretty early while watching CW's Beauty and the Beast.

Jack's POV
Jena left and Thelma keeps behaving like I owe her an explanation. When she got weird and started getting money from my ATM,I forgave her but she was to understand we were done.
"Babe!Explain now" she said.
"Don't ever call me that! That girl who is supposedly young is my choice and not you. You know we are done so leave.NOW!"
Before she could say anything I was on my way to my room.
"Don't say that baby"she argued.
Typical of Thelma not to take no for an answer but this was a situation in which she had a choice.She had ruined my chances with Jena yet my sub conscious told me to talk talk after all it was the lack of communication that brought me to this point. She apologized if she upset but said she was still very much in love with me. I made it clear that I fancied her as a friend but Jena had taken all of me. She nodded knowingly,stood,hugged me and left. I was happy she understood if only we had had that conversation a long time ago.
I've been ten to get to Jena. She's obviously avoiding my calls. Went to her place but apparently her dad was around. It's 10 pm and I've left tons of messages on her voicemail. I'm so frustrated resulting in me drinking too much wine and consequently getting drunk. I dozed off cold and drunk into a different era, more peaceful. There, I saw my baby, lovely as ever but when I got closer,she was crying hard. Before I could console her I woke up and realized it was 8am. I had slept off.
