"What were you thinking about? Are you nervous about the grounders?" She asked quietly in my ear, shooting chills down my spine.
"No! I'm not nervous!" I said quickly. It was true that I wasn't nervous but the way I put it said other wise.
"Awe baby. I'll protect you." She said as I gently put her down on her bed. My cheeks flared and I looked down in 'real' embarrassment. I went on my knees in front of Octavia and kept my sight down.
"Babe what's wrong?" She said and lifted my chin, so I could look at her eye to eye.
"The commander. She...... She give me the chills." It true that she gives me the chills but not in the way it should.
Suddenly my watch went off.
"I... I got to go O. The meeting." I said quietly and started to get up, off my knees. She gave me one last hug before letting me go.
"Don't cause any trouble." I said and left before she could respond.
I walked through camp and saw groups of grounders training, while the rest of our camp was firing at dummies.
The groups would glare at each other or just look with curiosity in the other's direction.
I entered the place we were to meet and saw they had already started.
"Sorry to be late. What did I miss?" I said and got the attention of everyone but the commander.
Why won't she look at me? I want to see her eyes to say I remembered her face but no. I didn't deserve a glance.
--Timeskip--
We finish the meeting but it was to late for the grounders to head back.
"So who is sleeping where?" I asked and looked at Clarke and Lexa.
"I would have you sleep with me, Lexa, but I don't have room. (Y/n)?" Clarke asked with a yawn after wards.
"Uh, O and I are the only ones there but we could make room." I said and looked at Lexa.
The whole meeting, she would not look me in the eyes and it is driving me crazy. I just need her to look me in the eyes and I'll be good. Yes I saw her eyes but it's better if she looked at me.
"It's okay. I have my own tent set up. Good night." Lexa said quickly and swiftly left.
I turned to Clarke but she was gone to. She looked tired so I guess she went to go sleep. I headed for my hut but saw there was a fight going on. I pushed my way and saw Octavia getting beat up by a grounder. I turned to the nearest person and asked what was going on.
"Octavia challenged the grounder for 'training' reasons." The girl said before turning her attention back to the fight. I stepped forward and got between the two. I push Octavia back, and I held back the grounder.
"Is this needed right now? We are going to war and we don't need people beat half to death." I said. The crowd booed and the grounder growled.
"Do not interfere with this, sky girl." A grounder stepped forward. She has dark skin, short hair a though look.
"Well this man was beating up my girl friend. If you don't want me to stop this let me join her side. You can add another warrior but I will help Octavia." I said.
"Y/n back off. This is my fight. I have this under control." Octavia said and got up from the ground.
"Having a broken nose, and a cut lip is totally called under control. O just let me help." I said. I hear the cracking of rocks behind me. I ducked down and kick the person's legs, causing them to fall harshly on the ground, closing my eyes in the process.
They fell with a thud but but much lighter then what I thought. I opened my eyes to see the commander on the ground.
"Commander! I'm sorry I thought you where the man who was fighting Octavia." I said and went to help her up. I quickly did a flip backwards and looked at who was going to put a blade to my neck.
"I was only trying to help her up." I said and the grounder baked away. By this time Lexa had gotten up ad looked at me. This is the first time she looked me in the eye.
Green. Forest green eyes. Her eyes were beautiful.
"Indra, why was he attacking that girl?" Lexa questioned but didn't look back.
"They were training. In fact I want to speak to you, Octavia." The supposed, Indra, said. Octavia walked over and didn't den glance at me.
"Why don't you all go hunting. Y/n I want to talk to you too." Lexa demanded. I couldn't say I wasn't scared but I followed the brown haired girl nonetheless.
She lead me to her tent ad commanded to be left alone with me. The guards left and glared at me as they left.
"Where did you learn to fight like that?" Lexa asked.
"Uh, my father. He trained me until I was sent down here." I said. I hated that man. Sleepless nights and whip lashes on my back.
I kept my eyes down as Lexa walked around me. She studied me head to toe before stoping in front of me. She threw a punch and out of instinct to moved to the left of the her fist. I grabbed her wrist and under her arm, before pulling down and throwing her to the ground.
"Oh gosh! Sorry Lexa! That was out of instinct, nothin more." I said quickly an held out a hand to help her up.
She took it but before I knew I felt pain shoot threw my back. She flipped me.
"If you are to become my second you will need I learn not to help the enemy up." Lexa said and I quickly got up.
"Wait, become your second?! I be honored." I said and bowed my head. I had learned what a second was a bit ago when we met a grounder. She explained the basics to a grounder's life.
"Yes. You and Octavia have proven your selves. You protect your people and Octavia doesn't give up. Both are good for building a warrior." Lexa explained.
We stood there in silence until the hunting party came back. Try cheered and laughed as they entered the camp.
"We'll it time we go to sleep. You go rest now. Training starts at sunrise." Lexa said and turned away.
I left quietly and walk back to my hut. I entered and saw Octavia laying on the bed. She was awake but she looked pissed.
"Hey. I'm training with Lexa tomorrow. Uh...... Are you okay?" I asked and looked at the beauty in front of me. I sat on my side of the bed and she looked at me, with a hit of pain.
"Y/n I think we should break up."
