30 | "Wanna see what I can do with this dirty mouth?"

Her eyes, which were usually filled with joy were now full of sadness and the smile that didn't seem to reach her eyes was no doubt fake. 

My heart clenched tightly in my chest.

This was all my fault.

"Do you know how fucking stupid you guys are" Chase told me as we walked down the hallway to out next period,

"I know" I replied.

I couldn't look at him; the guilt was too much.

"I can't believe you two went to that carnival"

Today was Tuesday and Mia had taken another day off to rest her leg so now I was getting a lecture from Chase about how dumb we were this weekend.

It's wasn't anything new.

"Noah is coming back earlier than what they planned because it's obvious they aren't going to find anything where Elliot isn't, but he's going to be so pissed"

"Really?" I asked sarcastically,

"Very funny," his tone equally as sarcastic.

"Not only did you go out with Logan and his friends, which you know very well that Noah wouldn't approve of, you got into more trouble with Elliot, got in the middle of a shooting, found a dead body and now Mia's hurt!" He whispered harshly to me so no one else heard us,

"Thanks for the reminder".

"Alexandra... Alexandra...Alexandra...Alexandra...Alexandra...Alexandra"

"What?" I snapped at Logan whom had non stop been annoying me the whole lesson,

"Final- Fucking-ly"

"You have a dirty mouth," I told him,

"Wanna see what I can do with this dirty mouth?" he smirked teasingly at me and I threw my pen at him which he caught with ease.

I blushed furiously, using my hair to cover my cheeks.

Later in the lesson my mood had dampened after thoughts of what happened at the carnival my found it's way into my mind and I had become too distracted to pay attention.

"What's wrong?" he asked worriedly, titling his head slightly to the side as if he were studying me.

"What's wrong?" I asked him, faking confusion.

"You look like you have a lot on your mind"

"I do" I said, resting my head on my hand and doodling on the worksheet in front of me while my teacher droned on about one thing or another.

One day I'm going to regret not paying attention during lessons.

He looked back at me, a concerned look crossing over his face,

"Wanna taco about it?" he asked me with a small smirk on his face while holding up a doodle of a taco he drew on his worksheet,

"God you're so cheesy" I replied, holding my doodle of a pizza on it.

He laughed slightly and shook his head,

I stared back at the board and averted my eyes from Logan.

Maybe it was best if we had some space.

It was Logan's idea to go to the carnival and maybe if we hadn't gone in the first place, none of this would've happened. Elliot was threatening us after all and if we didn't go then so many people's lives would've been saved.

God, I'm so stupid.

"Alexandra?"

"It's Alex," I snapped at Logan, who'd been taken back at my tone,

"Alexandra wha-" the bell rang, successfully cutting him off.

I picked up my text books and walked out of the classroom leaving a confused Logan behind me,

If he hadn't come up with the stupid idea of going to that carnival then none of this would've happened.
