Istudy my history and language at the large desk in my room. I look out the window seeing the birds fly through the sky. I sigh and look down. "I wonder what it's like going all around the world with out being worried. No worries of being attacked or ruling a castle. Learning to become queen and royal things like that." I say aloud. "You know you should be studying not wondering what's out there." My dad says. I sigh at his words. "How far are you till you're done?" He asks.
"I'm on the last page of history then I'm done." I say. "Good." He says. I stay faced away from him. He sighs. "Would you at least face me when speaking." He says. I look at him. "I know that you don't want to stay in the castle all the time but it's safe here no one can hurt you. You don't have to worry about anything. You could have anything you could desire." He says.
"I know you want to protect me and make sure I'm happy. I'm not happy though. I don't like this feeling of being trapped. Like I'm a bird trapped in a small cage." I say. "I know that so I want you to meet some people." He says. I look at him interested. "Get dressed they are in the thrown room." He says leaving. I quickly rush to put something on but stop mid dressed. I grip a dress tight. This isn't what I want.
No this is a courting test. I do get dressed and ring the bell I never use. It would come to a surprise if anyone thought I would do so. I like getting things done myself. I don't like to be catered. It just reminds me of how I'm trapped here forever. I prefer to get things done myself.
A knock on the door comes mid thought. I answer it. "Yes Ms.Melody, It's rare to hear your bell. Is something wrong?" A butler says. "I'd like a favor." I say. "Anything I am here to serve you." He says. "I'd like to ask you to have the suitors leave." I say. "But Ms.Melody I can not do that the king wouldn't like that." He says.
True that might get him fired. "Okay then that'll be all." I say. He nods then leaves. I sigh and look into my vanity mirror. If they want a princess they'll get a princess.

I get to the thrown room. There stood Three princes and a single knight. Of course only the best protection for his little girl. They bow once I enter the room. "Melody I'd like you to meet Blake and Jake Skylar princes of earth, Atlas of the wind kingdom and Commander James of our kingdom. " Dad says. "It's nice to meet you all." I say curtsying. "These are your suitors." He says.
I can't stand when he does this. First I'm not allowed to leave the castle now he's trying to lock me up in a different castle. "Something wrong Sweetie." He asks. "Why are you doing this?" I ask. "Doing what?" He asks. "I don't want suitors. You're giving me away to be locked up in another castle or stay here till I or you die. It's unfair I won't do it." I say then run off to my room. "Melody wait!" He shouts but I keep going and lock the door behind me.
I lean against the door and slide down it. It's unfair. I have a giant kingdom and I can't even see it. I look out the window seeing the birds chirp flying around happily. I want to be free. No I need to be free. All of these wonderful things that happen in the kingdom yet I get to be no part of it. I get up and go to my desk. It's time to plan for adventure.
