Dear Florian,

I received your letter. And I will be waiting where and when you said. My mother is constantly asking me if I have news about what's happening in France. I always tell her the same thing. I always say that I have not heard from you. She is really worried. What should I do about her? She thinks you're dead. Is that a bad or a good thing? Should I deny the fact that you're alive or not? I'm scared. For how long are you going to have to stay hidden? They found Laila yesterday. I'm afraid they'll find Rolan. My mother has no clue I'm hiding him in our attic and if the Germans find him, they'll execute her. My relationship with you might spare my life but certainly not hers. Please, tell me what to do.
