Kate and I were sitting on a cliff where mere months ago I was planning to commit suicide. I had used this place as my refuge before, but until now I had never noticed the beauty offered by my tranquil sanctuary.

I sighed in contentment, deep inside my thoughts. Kate and I's friendship was comfortable, both of us could enjoy each other's company even if we weren't conversing. I watch Kate lay her had down on my shoulder as we enjoy the crisp fall air.

"Why? Why did you nearly kill yourself?" A voice cut through my thoughts.

I pause, that day has been a sensitive subject for me. But around Kate, I was more relaxed. She didn't judge me that day, and she hasn't since. Even my parents judged me. Although I could answer this question, I take a minute to compose my answer.
