"Everything seems to be fine in there. How have you been feeling? Taking the medication I've been giving you?" the doctor put away her tools and sat on the chair next to the bed Ana was laying on.

"Yeah, I've been good, getting a few cramps here and there, but that's normal right?" she chuckled touching her stomach.

"What kind of cramps? Like jolts of pain or clenching?" the doctor took out a notepad and started scribbling down.

"I don't know, it happens every once in a while I don't think it's anything serious."

"Well you're seven weeks in so we should start checking up on you and the baby more often and let me know the next time you feel any pain." the doctor took off her glasses and smiled, "Might I ask where the father is?"

"Oh, he got stuck in the studio tonight, I'll tell him all the info no worries." she got up from her seat and adjusted the sweater she was wearing and covered her stomach.

"Okay, take it easy for now and I've been in contact with your people and let them know that you will be taking some time off starting next month when you're more noticeable." the doctor opened the door for Ana and smiled, "Take care love see you soon."

Fred her security was waiting for her outside, "All good?" he asked looking down at the blonde woman.

"Yup, let's go home." she smiled at Fred as they made their way out of the office.

--

After Fred had dropped her home she had started to feel a bit dizzy and the cramps were building up in her stomach. She quickly sipped on a cup of water and sat down in front of the TV with the phone in her lap contemplating if she should call the doctor or Slash or anyone for that matter. She lay down on her back and tried to even her breathing and shut her eyes and slowly tried to drift off to sleep with the TV playing in the background.

2 hours later

She jumped up hands shaking, cold sweat running down her face and a pain in her lower abdomen that she had never ever felt before. She clutched her stomach and tried to get up from her position tumbling over the coffee table and knocking some glasses down as she clung to the wall for support as she made her way to the bathroom. She quickly hunched over the toilet and threw up and before she knew it she blacked out on the bathroom floor.

--

"Ana? I got pizza! No olives!" he yelled through the house as he sat down his keys and walked into the living room seeing everything on the floor. He sat the pizza down on the couch and called out for her again.

"Ana?!" he ran through the house opening the doors and coming face to face with her on the floor of the bathroom covered in her own blood. There was so much blood he had to stop for a second, not knowing what to do as he covered his mouth. He ran towards her and lifted her head up on his lap.

"Ana! Wake up!" he tried to shake her awake, but nothing was working. He took the towel from the shelf and cleaned her face. "Ana!" he checked her pulse and for a minute her thought there was none as he put the towel under her head and took the phone on the bathroom wall and called 911.

--

He sat there head in his hands and his mother's hand on his back waiting for news as to what had happened to her. Was she okay? Was the baby?

"It's okay honey, the doctor will be out soon." his mother tried to soothe him and took his head in her lap as she tried to push back the hair out of his face.

"Slash!" Duff came bursting through the doors and took him in a hug, "Any news yet?"

Slash wiped his eyes and shook his head, "No, I dunno what's going on."

Duff sat down next to him and his mother and quietly waited with them for the doctor to come out.

After what seemed like hours, which it had been, but in Slash's head, it had felt like 100 hours... The doctor came out with a file in his hands and stood in front of the three of them.

"Mr. Hudson?"

Slash quickly stood up, "Is she okay?"

The doctor looked down at the floor, "She's managing for now, as for the baby, I'm sorry..."

He wiped his face with one hand and looked back at the doctor, "She's okay though she's gonna be okay?"

"She's managing, she's lost an incredible amount of blood. We're doing a blood transfusion right now and are hoping that she will be awake within the next three hours."  the doctor looked back and forth between the three people there, "There are a few forms you need to fill out, considering the fact that your her emergency contact," he handed the files to him, "I'll be back soon, I'm sorry again."

Slash took the forms and sat down, placing them on his lap. He just wanted her to be okay, the very reality of seeing her earlier had shaken him to his very core. Covered in her own blood and passed out as if she were dead. He couldn't shake the image out of her head.

"All that matters is she's gonna be okay. Honey, look at me." his mother took his chin and made him stare at her, "She's okay, she's gonna be okay." she hugged her son and held him close.

--

"Shes awake," the doctor came back exactly 3 hours later, "It'll be best if only one person goes at a time. She's a bit on edge. Miscarriages tend to be very emotionally exhausting as well as physically."

Slash stood up and nodded as he followed the doctor to Anas private room. There she was paler than ever, her hair tied up in a loose bun and her eyes hollow and bruised. She stared out of the window as she played with one of the tubes connected to her arms. She heard him come in, but didn't look over, instead, she closed her eyes and kept her head in the same position. He had never seen her like this, almost desperate looking, broken, tired, and if it were even possible she looked even more fragile than she had ever. He sat down next to the chair by her bedside and took her hand.

She didn't respond, she kept looking out the window, he noticed that she was crying and slowly reached out to touch her face and wipe away the tears from her cheeks.

"Ana, look at me, hey don't cry," he said trying to get her to face him. The one thing he hated seeing was her crying, he couldn't stand it, he hated anything and everything that made her cry.

She looked up at the ceiling sniffing and wiping her nose, "I can't help it," her voice was frail, "What else am I supposed to do?"

"There's nothing you need to do, just let me take care of you okay?" he sat down on the bed next to her and pulled her closer to his chest and held her.

"I'm sorry." her voice almost a whisper.

"There's nothing for you to be sorry for, you're here, you're okay, and that's all I care about right now." he kissed her head and allowed her to cry on his chest.

She had felt like she had completely failed. Failed her baby, the baby's father and herself. She was the one person who had to take care and protect this life and somehow she had failed and lost the one thing she, had for the longest time, looked forward to. A piece of her died that day, a part of her soul, her heart, and her mind had died along with her unborn child.

"We could have had a family," she managed to say in between her sobs.

"You're my family, we already are one." he kissed her head again.
