I wake up to the sound of Mom's alarm going off, she clicks it off. I stretch and sit up. "What time is the tour?" I ask "11:30" mom says I nod. I hop out of bed and get out some fresh clothes and step in the bathroom. I change, brush my teeth, comb my hair, and wash my face. Finishing with deodorant and cologne. Mom comes in after me, I sit down on my bed and click the tv on. I watch tv for about an hour until I decide to turn it off. I pick my phone up off the side table, I check my Snapchats and Instagram. "Ready to go Harvey?" Mom asks I nod, I stuff my phone into my pocket and follow mom out the door. We walk down to the streets where an uber waits for us. I climb in and Mom gets in next to me. The driver pulls away, I stare out a window, LA's so cool. After a 30 minute drive we pull up to a big school. I jump out and a man greets us at the doorway. "I'm Dr. Dambe, principal, you must be Harvey Mills and Mrs. Mills." He says "Yes." Mom says "Welcome to the Los Angeles School of Art and Talent." He says "Thanks." I say "It seems big but once you know your way around it's not that bad." He says We follow him in through the gate. "This is the big court yard, where we have activities and festivals and sports. Or you can just relax outside." He says I nod. "So on the side are the dorms. Left side is boys, right side is girls. So i'll show you the boys dorms." He says We follow him left, there's two big doors in the middle of the boys building. He pushes it open. "So we have staircases to all the dorms, they all have numbers on them, each floor has a lounge area. The main floor here is where the building monitors stays, snacks, and conference rooms all sorts of things." Dr. Dambe says We follow him up a flight of stairs. "So this is what each floor looks like. Main area here is the lounge area, and then all the dorms and rooms." He says We follow him back downstairs and out the doors. "The girls building is the same, so lets go to the main school." He says We follow him along a long path to the main entrance to the school. It's big inside. "Two sets of staircases that lead upstairs to the classrooms. If you walk straight ahead." He motions us to follow "This room is the food hall, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. You don't have to attended breakfast or dinner but you do attend lunch since that's during school hours. Over here." He turns left. "Is the gym. And the locker rooms. Then if we come over here." He turns around. "This is a study room. You can study or work in homework." He says We follow him back out into the main entrance. "Walking up the stairs are all the classrooms." We follow him up the stairs, I glance at the walls and everything as we walk. "So the classrooms are pretty self explanatory. The library is down the hall and to the right. And I think that's about it, do you have any questions?" Dr. Dambe asks We shake our heads. "Well if you do don't hesitate to call. We're looking forward to your enrollment this fall." He says smiling "Yes we look forward to it, thank you again for the tour!" Mom says They shake hands. We walk back down the stairs and out the doors. "Do you like it?" Mom asks "Yeah it's big." I say "Yes it is. But I'm sure you'll get around." She says "Yeah." I say "Now there's some shops here so I wanna go in and look is that okay?" Mom asks "Sure." I say shrugging "You can walk around within the shopping area by yourself, just don't go outside of the the area and meet me back here okay?" Mom says I nod. We break off and Mom goes in the direction of the shops. I stand here awkwardly for a minute figuring out where to go. "Hey." Someone calls I look over and see two boys walking over to me. "Hey?" I say "I'm Carter, that's Ben." One boy says "I can say my own name." Ben says rolling his eyes "Anyway, you go to this school?" Carter asks pointing to the school "Yeah I'm going this fall." I say "Ah, I see. It's fun don't worry. What's your talent?" He asks "My brain?.." I say They both nod. "Some kids are brainiacs." Ben says "Why do you go there?" I ask getting kind of offended "Music." Ben says "Drawing." Carter says I nod. "My brother's a drawer." I say "Name?" Carter asks "Max." I say He nods. "Oh so I think I know who you are, Laney told us about you." Ben says Carter gives him a look. "She has?.." I ask "Yeah we're good friends with her." Carter says "Oh." I say I didn't know Laney had all of these other friends in Cali.. "Anyway..here we'll show you around." Ben says "Aren't we meeting Carmen here too?" Carter asks "Oh yeah, here we can walk around while we wait." Ben says "Carmen?.." I ask "Oh yeah she's..friends with Laney too. Didn't you guys meet last night?" Carter asks "How do you so much about me and who've I met?" I ask suspiciously "Like we said, we're a pretty close bunch, we tell each other like everything so.." Carter trails off I slowly nod. We begin walking down the street, I glance at all the stores, they're kind of cool. "So Harvey where are you from?" Carter asks "Don't you guys like already know that?" I ask "No we're not stalkers." He says "I'm from Maryland." I say "That's cool." Ben says I nod. I see my mom appear from out of the shops. "Hey there's my mom, I have to go, um nice meeting you guys?" I say "Oh ok. See you in the fall." Carter says I nod. I run off to mom. "Oh hey Harv." She says "Hey." I say "Ready to get back?" She asks "Yep." I say We get an uber and drive back to the hotel. "Ready to get back home tomorrow?" Mom asks "Yeah. It was quick though." I say "Yeah, but at least you got a feel for LA for the fall." She says I nod. "Yeah." I say We arrive back at the hotel and just hang out for the rest of the night getting ready to go back tomorrow. ~ I wake up early the next morning and I do the same routine as I did yesterday. Mom and I arrive at the airport early, we check in and get up to our gate. Once again there's more waiting. And waiting. And waiting. UNTIL FINALLY our plane comes. We're on quickly, now the long ride back to Maryland. ~ AHAHA so much is happening in this chapter. What do you guys think of Harvey's school?
