I fear for my health and wellness because Future friends is out and this video is my new life. I will never delete that album from my phone. NOT EVER. I've been listening to it too many times, someone help.
I was slaving over the messy ingredients to make brownies for the new neighbors. I decided not to go get brownie batter, and actually make them. Though, usually, my baking turns out disastrous.
My dad loves to bake, so we had the ingredients already. Brownies are pretty easy to make, so I had no trouble. I tasted a bit of them when they were out of the oven and they
tasted okay. I waited for them to cool off enough to carry with bare hands.
I started off on the short walk to the house across from the park that I knew so well. The sheet of brownies in hand, I knocked on the front door of the house. A woman answered and smiled sweetly at me. I smiled back.
"Hello, I saw your moving truck yesterday and I wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood," I explained.
"Aren't you so sweet? What's your name hun?" The woman asked, taking the brownies from me.
I told her my name and age, she seemed surprised that a boy my age was making this gesture to welcome her. I knew nobody would buy this house alone, I suspected others lived with her.
My suspicions were proven correct when she called, "Scotty! Come see! Someone made us brownies!"
I smiled slightly, I liked this woman already.
"Oh no, I'm being rude, my name's Connie," she stated apologetically.
I smiled and saw a boy come up behind and shared his mother's smile.
"Hi, I'm Scott, my mother's a little insane, sorry," he rubbed the back of his neck and sighed. He stuck a hand out for me to shake.
"I apologize in advance for my awful cooking..." I laughed slightly.
"It's fine, It'll be better than mine..." We laughed for a little while and they thanked me for the food.
I made my way home and grabbed my violin to take it to my bench. Today, I was writing a song. Or, attempting to. The notes were flowing through my head, but not coming out on the strings. I sighed in defeat.
I played a song that I memorized. It was a good three minute piece of music. I was so into the music that I didn't hear someone talking behind me. I finished the piece and smiled down at my beautiful violin. Someone tapped my shoulder and I jumped.
It was Scott again, I was surprised.
"Oh, hi! Nobody ever comes to talk while I'm playing, you startled me," I told him.
"Sorry," he seemed to be nervous and a little shy even, "I just came here with my little sister and saw you playing. You're really good..." A smile pulled at my lips.
"My brother thinks you're pretty," I hear a small voice say. I look down and see that Scott was holding hands with a little girl, she seemed to be at most 7 years old. "He acted like this around the girl that used to come over a lot before we came here," I flashed the blushing Scott a quick smile before beginning a fast and up-beat song for his sister.
By the end she was jumping around and clapping. I smiled at the girl and Scott still looked embarrassed by what she had said, I'm sure that he didn't say that. New people are hard to deal with, especially when losing a girlfriend. She'd seen him act like this around people he wants to get to know.
"Wow! Bubby, I wanna do THAT!!!" The girl screamed excitedly, I chuckled.
"It's taken me years to get this good," I explained.
"Was it six years? I'm six!" She exclaimed.
"It was longer than six years," I laughed at her distracted train of thought. She was quite cute, she had her brothers blue eyes and blonde hair.
"Well... How long then?" She was taken aback, probably because six years is her whole life and more than that is a very large amount for her.
"Hmm... twelve years... I started when I was four..." I thought back to my years and realized that I couldn't remember a time that I wasn't playing a violin.
She gasped, "I don't want to do that anymore bubby, it takes too long. Let's go play! Play! Play!!"
I laughed as she dragged him by the hand to the playground. I continued working on a new song and the little girl brought some inspiration to me. Notes came out on the strings and I wrote them down as I went, I had a notebook with staff lines on it.
I realized, after finishing the song, that I didn't catch the girls name. I titled it Scott's Sister.
