"ZARA, YOU CANNOT SEE THIS BOY ANYMORE! HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A REAL JOB! ZARA COME BACK HERE NOW!"
Those were the last words I heard fall out my dad's lips before I shut the door behind me. Tonight hadn't gone well at all. From the second Grayson had walked through the front door, dad had been hostile and rude. I felt bad for Grayson, he had been trying so hard to impress my dad all night, yet my dad was treating him so poorly. All night I had resisted yelling at dad, I finally did when I heard him mutter another rude remark under his breath.
I was done with him. I grabbed Grayson's hand pulling him towards his car, trying to get away from the terrible dinner as quickly as I could. We hopped in the car before my dad could yell at me from the front door. Grayson said nothing to me, I said nothing to him, I didn't even know what to say. This went so much worse than I could have ever imagined.
He turned off the car. I hadn't even noticed where he had driven too but it was beautiful. He had driven to a stunning lookout, suprisingly just what I needed after that dinner. Neither of us had said anything since I dragged him out of the house. I shifted my body so that I was facing Grayson, I sighed whilst trying to work out what to say. He gently intertwined our fingers pulling my hand up to his lips, pressing them gently against the back of my hand.
"I'm sorry," I mumble whilst playing with his hand.
"Baby, it's not your fault. You tried your best and I couldn't have asked you for anything else."
"I just hate that you tried your best to impress him, but he was just so rude. I'm so sorry."
"Hey, stop being so hard on yourself. I'm sure he'll come around, hopefully."
"You have more faith than I do," I mumble, chuckling lightly.
"One of us has to be positive, and if it has to be me, then I will do my best to be the positive one!"
"Thankyou,"
"No problem baby. Alright now in an attempt to cheer you up we're gonna dance! I'm going to shuffle one of my playlists and play through my Bluetooth speaker and you're dance your little heart out." Grayson explained, whilst rummaging through his car in search of his Bluetooth speaker.
"Babe, we both know you can't dance even if your life depended on it," I replied, a laugh escaping my body. I stepped out of the car, walking to lean against the front of his car admiring the beautiful city view.
"That is indeed true but this can be a little dance lesson! So take it seriously thank you very much." He informed me, whilst setting up his Bluetooth speaker next to me.
"What playlist do you have for our little dance lesson?" I asked.
"My latest monthly playlist. A lot of sexy songs and pretty much the whole More Life album."
"Sexy huh?" I mumbled, my lips pulling into a smirk.
"Yup. So you better get your sexy dancing ready, baby."
"Alright. Get ready to learn how to dance Mr Dolan," I chuckled, turning around and grabbing his hand as he pressed shuffle on his phone, the music instantly filling the air around us.
