Lauren's P.O.V
There are said to be different types of love, and alike you and I, we have all experienced at least one of its forms. Love can be painful, but yet it can be wonderful. Like it's been said, there are many types of love, but for the sake of this story I'll only be talking about two of the many. The platonic, and the romantic.
Sometimes in love we have to make the hard decision of letting them go. Although in times when this occurs I believe the best quote to refer to would be "If you love something set it free, and if it returns it was meant to be, and if it does not, it was never yours to begin with". I never quite thought I'd ever use it, but that was until I met her.
I never got the chance to know at her youth, as I wish I would have, but I'm glad I got to meet her at some point in life. When I met her I was blown away by her maturity and her intellectuality. She wasn't your average woman.
We had met during my first year of college. I was working at the local campus coffee shop. She came in daily mornings and get her usual. A croissant and a macchiato. Although that's not quite important. It was rare to see her come in with friends, so when she actually had someone accompanying her it seemed strange.
With that all in mind, I never actually talked to her until one Friday afternoon. I was working the late shift when she had come in. She seemed more relaxed and it was probably because she wasn't in a hurry as usual. It was quite different to see her so laid back. Since I was working the register, she actually had to talk to me and I had to talk to her.
I smiled intently as I listened to her order, although I already had an idea on what she'd get. She had asked me it my name was Lauren, I was quite shocked because I didn't think she even knew who I was, but then it hit me that my name was on the tag. Before I could speak she told that she was sorry, for asking since she thought I probably did not want to talk to a stranger. I told her it was fine and that she was correct.
Then she went on telling me that the reason towards why she had asked was because Ally had mentioned me before. I knew who she was talking about because we had a English class together. Y/N told me that from what she had heard I seemed like quite the cool person and she also apologized for not approaching me before and I had told it was fine.
After I served her drink she had asked if my shift was almost over, and since it was, she offered to wait for me and drink the coffee together. That was the first actually conversation I had with her. Since it was getting late she said she had told me goodbye and told me she hoped to see me around.
After those events occurred, everything changed for me.
It's quite short, but it'll be longer throughout the upcoming chapters. Thank you for reading - C
