Victor continues to stare at Stevens and yells, "Get out!" Stevens nods his head and leaves the lab. Victor watches Stevens vacate, and then addresses Georgia, "I'm sorry, baby. I will never let that dick ever see you again. I promise." He bends down and gently kisses her on her cold cheeks, releasing a warm single tear. Afterwards, he slides Georgia's body back into her temporary shelter and closes the door.
Gerald continues to run models on his computer as he tries to see how many lives will fall to death's prey within the next four days. When he sees the number being generated, he lowers his head into his hands and silently prays to God. When he finishes, he turns off the computer and decides to check on Victor.
As Gerald walks through the winding corridor of the Plaza's basement, he hears someone making a tsking sound. He turns around and sees Stevens lighting a cigarette.
"I thought you left us for good, Stevens?" Gerald asks.
"I thought so, too. But you assholes have everything so screwed up that someone with balls needs to be around to cover your mistakes; just like the one Parks is making right now."
"What do you mean?" Gerald asks, as he approaches Stevens more closely.
"You have no idea what is happening, do you Bennett? You think you know everything that's going on and what's going to happen." Stevens throws his cigarette on the floor, stomping it with his shoe. He blows smoke into Gerald's face, scoffing at him, and says, "Just wait your turn. You'll see." Stevens walks away.
Gerald watches Stevens walk down the corridor and disappear from his sight. He glances down to the floor and sees the cigarette butt still smoldering and extinguishes it with his shoe. He mutters under his lips, "What a dick!" Gerald continues onward to the lab to check on Victor.
When Gerald enters the lab, he sees Victor at his desk, resting his head on his arms. Unsure if he should disturb him, Gerald decides to see Georgia instead. Quietly, Gerald opens the storage compartment and carefully pulls the slab out where Georgia's body lies.
Even though Georgia's head is wrapped in cloth that is soiled by her blood, her beauty still arouses Gerald. Secretly in love with Georgia for years, Gerald bends down and gives Georgia a tender kiss on her lips, and whispers, "Goodbye, my love. I will always love you."
Unaware that Victor is awake, Gerald turns around and says, "Hey, Victor. I... I... didn't want to wake you. I just wanted to pay my last respects to Georgia. Is that okay?"
Victor gives Gerald and austere look, and says, "What are you doing, Gerald?"
Gerald begins to slide the slab back into the storage compartment, when Victor grabs it, and says, "Get away, man. I don't want you around my wife – dead or alive."
Victor pushes Georgia back into her resting place and closes the door. He locks it, and turns to Gerald saying, "Were you and Georgia lovers, Gerald?"
Gerald stares at Victor, and timidly says, "No, Victor. Absolutely not! Why would you ask me that?"
"I knew you always had your eye on my wife, but I don't believe Georgia was ever unfaithful. Or was she, Gerald?" Victor waits for Gerald to respond.
"No, Victor. She was never unfaithful. She loved you too much. I... I loved her, though she never knew it. I kept it to myself. I knew she would never betray you, or Claire."
Victor continues to stare at Gerald and says, "Well, you don't need to love her anymore. She's not yours and never will be yours to love. As a matter of fact, I plan on taking Georgia away from here and bury her where she wanted to be buried; a place where only she and I know."
