(Ombre's [Owen] POV)
"Cupcake, it's time to wake up. We still have your equipment to pack. I started packing your clothes already." Dad's soft voice travelled through my ears. I felt his hand caress the top of my head.
"Five more minutes, Dad." I mumbled, not even caring if he understood me or not.
He gave a low chuckle. "No. I already let you sleep an extra thirty minutes. It's 7:30, so we seriously need to start packing." He paused for a second. "Unless...you want those goons you call bodyguards to touch all your equipment. It's fine by me, so I'll just let them in since I have a key to the room." He nonchalantly said.
My eyes shot open as my body rose. "Ты сумасшедший?!" [Are you crazy?!] I jumped out of bed and fell as my legs gave out on me. I looked up at him and saw the biggest smirk ever.
He held out his hand and helped me to the bathroom. I washed my face with my face towel, brushed my teeth, and somewhat combed my hair. I had this bedhead kind of hairstyle. It didn't look back, so I just left it the way it was. Dad, then, helped me into the walk-in closet to get some clothes, that wasn't packed yet, to wear. I grabbed a loose white T-shirt, black, ripped skinny jeans, navy-blue boxer briefs, black ankle socks, and tan business-casual shoes. I put everything on while Dad held my shoes. I grabbed my Fitbit Blaze that was charging on my nightstand and wrapped it around my left wrist. I thought it'd be best if I started working out again after the accident. He walked me to my computer room and left a few boxes and cases with me.
"I'm going to go put your shoes on the rack, so you can put them on when we leave. Why don't you start packing in here while I pack your clothes?" He suggested.
I nodded my head and whispered a thank you. He patted my shoulder and walked out the room, leaving me to myself. I grabbed a sharper that was next to me and started labeling the cardboard boxes: Wires/Cables, Speakers, Monitors, Keyboards. I used string to tie the wires/cables individually, so they wouldn't get tangled in the box. I grabbed some sticky notes and labeled each wire/cable, speaker, monitor, and keyboard according to which equipment they belong to. The cases were used to place the more valuable items such as the system unit, my laptops, tablets, iPads, etc. Any equipment that contained things from confidential information to programs I created needed to be locked and sealed. The cases required blood identification, so I needed to insert a flash drive-like chip with my blood into the the case to open. My life was built from my computers. Without them, I'd have no purpose. I'd risk everything I ever had to keep them safe from the hands of evil. Ironically, I was the one labeled evil.
Once I finished packing everything, I glanced around the room. It was barren. What remained were the glass tables, stands, and glass shelves. I made a quick reminder in my head to get new tables and stands for the computer room in the nest. Looking at my Fitbit, I noticed it was 8:30. I heaved a sigh; I spent an hour packing my entire room into boxes. There was a knock at the door, and Dad had walked in.
I turned around and saw him leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed over his chest. "You finished, Cupcake?"
"Yeah, is there anything else to pack?" I asked, stretching my arms in the air.
"I already finished packing your closet, so we just need to wait for your goons to show up." He had a disgusted look when he started talking about my bodyguards.
I rolled my eyes as he started helping me up from the floor. "I thought you were the one who wanted me to get protection? They haven't even started their job yet, and you're looking at them as if they're pests."
