Leslie unexpectedly turns around, and then turns back addressing the cameraman, "What?"
The cameraman tilts his head to the right, gives Leslie a puzzling look, and waits for her to continue. She stands silent, staring blankly into the camera. A crewman appears in the camera's view walking towards Leslie to see what's wrong. When the crewman is inches away from her, he jumps back, and yells, "Holy shit!" He doesn't take another step, but stands before her, as he watches dark, red blood channeling from her nostrils. The crewman slowly lifts his right leg, takes one step backwards, allowing his left leg to follow, until he is safely distant from her reach. The cameraman continues rolling as the world views for the first time how the disease attacks.
Leslie's microphone slowly begins to slip between her fingers, eventually falling to the ground. The atmosphere of the universe becomes deathly silent. No sound from the television monitor or from the crowded streets is audible. Unexpectedly, a terrible, awful groaning sound begins to project from Leslie's grunting teeth. She falls to her knees, pressing her hands against her head. This poor, young woman begins to wrench in anguish as the world watches in horror.
Many of the dignitaries attending the conference begin to notice what's happening. Immediately, a rush to get into the building is initiated. People begin to scream, as they flee to the doors to gain access into the building, hoping that they're not infected. Guards try to conduct order, but see that it's futile.
The cameraman keeps an intent watch on Leslie, as he projects her death worldwide. As she continues to clutch herself in agony, Leslie falls to her side, as her breathing commences into an eerie, gurgling sound. With her face looking towards the cameraman, he zooms in on her as blood bubbles forth from her once, attractive mouth. The blood is thick, causing Leslie to work hard for every breath that she's able to steal in order to remain alive. Unfortunately, she's drowning in her own blood. The crowd outside Wyler's watches in disbelief, as Leslie's disfiguring worsens.
Leslie's groaning becomes muffled, as the world watches her demise. Her breathing is labored, and her body twitches less. The stunned cameraman absorbs the moment, and realizes that history's being made. He all of a sudden leaps back as he catches the moment of oblivion. Leslie's stomach begins to expand. She lies lifeless, unaware of her final moment. The remaining television crew begins to vomit as they witness the death of Leslie.
The cameraman composes himself, and returns to filming the hideous act of atrocity being inflicted upon a mortal. Her pores begin to eject liquid. As the camera zooms in on her face, it's apparent that the liquid is water; like sweat. As the water streams lightly down her face, as if Leslie were shedding her last tears, her body begins to deflate like a balloon. Her soft, velvety skin begins to shrivel up, dehydrating within seconds. Her mesmerizing personality soon withers, as her azure eyes sink into her shrinking head, then bursts like fire crackers once celebrated on the Fourth of July. Onlookers, near and afar, gasp in terror as they consume the death of the now extremely famous Leslie Gatewood. The first human death witnessed by the world, unjustly suffering from the uninvited malaise slithering its way through the meandering paths of humanity. This is now a reality show, instead of a news broadcast.
With only the cameraman left, he is incredibly controlling his nervousness. Breathing heavily, he peers into the camera lens, and watches the finale of Leslie's untimely end. Leslie becomes unnoticeable. Her face is totally gone, not leaving any skeletal remains that once supported her beauty.
Her round shaped face becomes distorted from the liquefying of her brain. Leslie's brain lies still in the back of her head; a puckish pink pool of brain matter, never again to exercise intelligence, or love. Instead, Leslie is gone; completely gone. Her whole essence is non-existent.
