"Alright who?"

"Maxon Gaudiér!" She blurted out with animosity... I stared at her for a good second and couldn't help but palm myself again.

"Oh Phoebe! When will you learn.", seems like never.

"It's fine! Besides I've had a crush on him for ages–"

"What does that have to do–", I tried cutting in.

"It's not like I'd mind jumping his bo–"

"Phoebe!", I shouted a little too loud.I turned my head to scan if other people in the cafe had noticed, and faced Phoebe again. "Don't just say that stuff nonchalantly!", I whispered,

"Especially not in public!"

"Hey, I'm human."she shrugged."Besides, a little release helps relieve a week's worth of stress. Even if it means waking up with a stranger sometimes." Care free, so care free.

"I can't believe how you say that so simply... that you just do it so casually even!.."

"Says you Mary!"

"Oh my god",I huffed out.  "You did not just–I thought you'd stop calling me that by now! You've been doing it since we were seventeen!", she merely shrugged.

"I'm not like you Phoebe. I can't just go up to a guy and seduce him! Ive never even liked a guy like that before!.

She clucked her tongue."Oh come on I'm sure you've liked someone... what about our high school history teacher! You had it bad for that dork!"

"Phoebe I did not! Geez get a filter!", I suddenly became very conscious of the flush rising up my neck.
"I just thought it was cute how he'd get all excited about history and all..that was it! Besides he was fresh out of school he was very young", I tried to justify myself.

"Twenty-eight really isn't young but whatever...", she sipped the last of her coffee. "seducing is easy, just let the guys come to you, flirt a little and the rest will go smoothly"she explained

I snorted. "Yeah says you!", I was hoping we'd get past this topic already. "You're basically a hot beacon!" It was true everywhere she went she'd catch a guys attention, even the girls would glare.

"Oh come on Mia, thats not true. Some look at you too! You just scare them away thats all", she mumbled the last part.

"Scare them?", my brow rose.

"Yeah i guess you haven't really realized it yourself, but you kind of give off a 'don't f with me' kind of aura. You need to learn to loosen up with other people a little. You're too stiff and depressing."

"I guess that explains the many boyfriends iv had"i mumbled sarcastically. Not that I truly  minded. Keeping my guard up, keeping walls up was how I survived. I didn't let anyone in, not like i did with Phoebe, and I don't plan on inviting anyone in any time soon.

"Why don't you just come?", I was pulled from my thoughts by the suggestion. "We'll get ready and go out together! we haven't spent a night out together in the longest time. It'll be fun!", she looked at me with expectant eyes.

I really didn't want to drag myself along but..."Free booze would sound good to me right now" I admitted. I had a lot on my shoulder right now, two part time jobs and three utility rent envelopes stacked by my entrance. But it was true,Phoebe and I haven't spent a night out together in a while.

"Yay! So its settled then, your coming to the party with me! You probably don't have a suitable outfit since its... you we're talking about..."she said gesturing at my outfit.
I wore a simple oversized black t-shirt with distressed army green skinny jeans and my hair was put into a, not so pretty, messy knot. "...no offense..., so you'll have to come over and we can get ready together!I can do your makeup, get those eyebrows tweezed, and that hair....My god that hair will need some work." She sat back to analyze me some more"And then get you an outfit picked, I think I already have something in mind!"she finished rambling.
