Daddy Edward just let Andrew play with AJ in the pool, he just settles to watch his son teaches his grandson how to swim. He has never seen Andrew laughs this hard. The scene reminded him of himself and Andrew.
Daddy Edward thinks of all the times wasted. If only Andrew did not runaway four years ago he could have seen how his son has grown. Andrew flew to Switzerland without a word or at least tried to communicate with Gara for four years. He could not blame her for hiding her son from his father. He respected Gara's decision to just keep the truth from Andrew and let her tell him herself. According to her, she will only tell him the truth once she discerns the reason why he just left and never communicates with her anymore.
Daddy Edward saw Gara's struggles in raising AJ in Malaysia, and he thank God for Winona and Jake. The couple never leaves her side in every single day of Gara's single motherhood life. He offered to help her in the finances but Gara refuses. For her, it is Andrew who should be responsible for AJ and not him. But how can Andrew be responsible with AJ if he does not know who this kid really is?
If there is one thing that is certain for Daddy Edward, that is the love of Andrew and Gara for each other. For four years that Andrew was away, he never heard of his son dating another woman. The same with Gara, men have pile up both in Malaysia and in the Philippines to get her attention, but she remains single until now. Andrew and Gara only need to clear so many things out. They never communicate but rather choose to just runaway.
"Ang lalim naman ng iniisip mo Dad" he heard Andrew said
"Hindi naman, I was just pondering of you and I before. I remember how your Mom objected on having that swimming pool when you were still at AJ's age, sabi nya delikado raw para sa yo kasi baka makalingat yung yaya mo at mahulog ka sa swimming pool. Your typical overthinking Mom" Daddy Edward said
"But you choose to disobey her" Andrew said smiling
"At hindi ko pinagsisisihan yun. That pool serves as our little haven, sa sobrang busy ko kasi to manage the business and prove to your Lolo that I am capable of handling the business, hindi ko na kayang samahan ka sa lahat ng gusto mong puntahan, so para sa akin yung mga bonding natin sa pool na yan are one of the most beautiful memories we had as father and son" Daddy Edward said
"What is happening to you Dad? Sobrang senti mo naman ngayon" Andrew teases but Daddy Edward did not mind him.
"You know Andrew, when you started to grow up and na lessen na yung bonding moment natin sa pool na yan. I had a wish" Daddy Edward said
"Really Dad? Anong wish naman yun?" Andrew asked
"To see you and your children make that pool your piece of haven too" Daddy replied smiling
Andrew got mum for a while at what his Dad just said "Yung child nga malabo na, children pa kaya" Andrew replied.
"What do you mean? Wala kang balak mag-asawa?" Daddy Edward surprisingly asked
Andrew smiled and prefers not to answer his Dad "Tama na yan Dad, tara na po, excited na ang bulilit sa iron man bag na promise mo" Andrew said.
"Where is AJ?" Daddy Edward asked
"Pinabihisan ko na po. Nilalamig na kasi, mahirap nang magkasakit yung bata baka hindi na ipahiram sa atin ulit." Andrew replied while drying his hair with his towel.
"Ulit? Ibig mong sabihin uulitin mo pa 'to?" Daddy Edward asked
"Yes Dad, ayaw mo ba?" Andrew asked
"Hindi naman sa ganon, pero kapag palagi na baka kailangang ikaw na ang manghiram kay Gara" Daddy Edward said
"Ikaw na rin ang nagsabi Dad 'Gara never says No to her Tito Edward', pero sa akin Dad, it is very easy for her to say No" Andrew said
"What do you mean?" Daddy Edward asked
"Tara nang magbihis Dad, baka mainip yung bisita natin" Andrew said to avoid discussing about Gara and Daddy Edward knew that he needs to respect that.
It was already a little pass two in the afternoon when the three Garcia's returned home and Daddy Edward is too worried at all the toys that Andrew bought for AJ.
"Papahirapan mo pa akong mag explain kay Gara about those toys that you bought for AJ." Daddy Edward said
"These are gifts. Our sign of appreciation because AJ made us very happy today" Andrew explained
"I know, but we both know that Gara never think that way. I only promised her that I will only buy an iron man school bag for AJ, not with those other toys na kasama" Daddy Edward said
"Don't worry na Dad, i-explain ko na lang kay Gara pagkahatid ko kay AJ" Andrew said
"No, hindi ikaw ang maghahatid kay AJ. Ako ang humiram, ako ang maghahatid" Daddy Edward said
"Pero pagod ka na Dad" Andrew objected
"And that's because of you Andrew. Sa yo ako napagod hindi kay AJ. Kulang na lang bilhin mo yung buong toy section ng department store" Daddy Edward said
"Natutuwa kasi si AJ dun sa mga toys kaya binili ko" Andrew explained
"I warned you about buying stuff for AJ. I told you that Gara will not like it" Daddy Edward said
"Ako na nga lang po ang mag i-explain Dad" Andrew insisted
"The answer is still No Andrew, ako pa rin ang maghahatid kay AJ and that's final" Daddy Edward firmly said and Andrew could do anything anymore but to follow.
Daddy Edward brings AJ to the hardware store where Gara and Winona are busy attending to several customers. She immediately runs as soon as she sees the car of Andrew's Dad.
"Tito Edward, salamat po sa paghatid kay AJ" Gara said while serving a cup of coffee to Daddy Edward "Sana po hindi kayo masyadong kinulit ng bubwit na ito" she added
"I should be the one thanking you iha for allowing AJ to spend sometime with me and Andrew" Daddy Edward said "And speaking of Andrew, please forgive me as I was able to stop him to buy too many toys for AJ. But he promise me na hindi na mauulit" Daddy Edward apologizes
"I knew it Tito Edward. We both know how stubborn Andrew is. Sana po last na 'to, ayoko po kasing masanay si AJ sa mga bagay na hindi naman nya kailangan" Gara said
"I know iha, and I completely agree. Hayaan mo hindi na mauulit" Daddy Edward said
"Mommy I have so many iron man figurines" AJ butt-in
"Really, where did you get those? I don't remember buying you iron man figurines. Di ba I told you that only one toy per visit in the toy store" Gara said
"Boss bought all those for me, I did not asked him to buy it for me" AJ replied
"Boss? Who is Boss" Gara asked
"Boss ang tawag nya kay Andrew" Daddy Edward explained
"I like him Mommy" AJ said
"Who?" Gara asked
"Boss, I like him" AJ replied
"I'm sure Boss will be very glad to know that you like him" Daddy Edward said
"Can he be my Daddy too like Papa Jake. I want him to be my Daddy" AJ suddenly said which makes Gara and Daddy Edward dumbfounded.
