To be honest, Abby was a little relieved that Henry had interrupted them. She glanced over at Daniel's rugged face. She was immensely attracted to him, there was no denying that, but the evening had heated up a little too quickly for her. His kisses sent her to another planet. One where the oxygen was a little thin, and it made her giddy. Being pressed into the couch by his athletic body was both thrilling and alarming. She knew what it was leading up to, but...

She shivered. Was she ready for it? It had been so long since the last time. She was pretty sure cobwebs now adorned her lady parts.

She scolded herself for using the term lady parts.

"Well, I should get going," Daniel said as he rose from the couch. He looked expectantly at her, as if hoping she would tell him to stay.

She almost did. But she knew that if he did stay, it wouldn't be to watch TV. "I'm glad you came over," she said as she tossed the toy one last time and stood up.

There was a little disappointment in his eyes, but he was still cheerful as he picked up his jacket. "Me too." He snaked an arm around her waist and pulled her to his mouth once more. After a lingering kiss, he whispered onto her lips, "I'd like to do it again sometime."

Abby, at a loss for words, merely nodded. He smiled charmingly and left without another word. She closed the door and put one hand against it, smiling and touching her lips with her fingers.

Henry was looking at her with a most peculiar expression, all the playfulness gone. Was he... jealous? It wasn't unheard of for dogs to be jealous for their owner's attention. If she didn't know any better, she would have suspected Henry orchestrated many of tonight's embarrassing moments.

She shook her head. Imagining things again. She pulled a notebook from her drawer and scribbled down some thoughts. A conniving, self-aware dog might make for an interesting story.

If she only knew. She might vote him out of her apartment! Would you?
